I love the use of geometry on the court to explain strategies! You are one of the very few who do this so well. Thank you.

Thank you. My geometry teacher who was not so fond of me then would be proud of me now ! Lol

Your videos offer such intelligent strategy for moving one's game to the higher levels. Thanks to you, I am thinking so much more now about correct shot, correct placement, positioning, etc., instead of just whacking the ball back. Keep the coaching coming. 👍

very good video. i find the best return is the lob kitchen shot to set up the dink game. it disarms the other team, slows the game down and resets it to your advantage. the problem is the shot takes a lot of drills to get it down.

A lob shot that lands in the kitchen is called a drop shot. The shot that is called a lob shot is a shot that is lobbed over your opponents head and hopefully their over their paddles reach to. At higher skill levels it is usually done while you are forward in the court. The lob from the back is likely to get smashed hard. By playing the lob you are hoping it gets smash steeply so that the bounce is shallower and softer than the previous ball; so you can play the next shot soft into the kitchen.

The lob that I find affective is the deep one, which moves at least one player deep.

A lob from the back court is a recipe for disaster at any level. Video should emphasize this as a last resort option.

Why the vertical video. That is why the bars on the side of the video.

"If my opponent hits a winner it is better than me making a mistake" is not a reason to to avoid hitting a third shot drop. Perhaps you will win 20% of your lob points. On the other hand, when you hit a 3rd shot drop, maybe you only get 60% of them into the kitchen. But of those, you will win half -- so that is a 30% win rate when you try a 3rd shot drop. Basically, YOU HAVE TO TRY THIRD SHOT DROPS if you want to win. And by trying them, you will get better at them. And then you will win more.

sirdaveo idk depends on your level. I have a really good lob game not only do I hit 70-80% percent of my lobs very deep but I also use topspin this causes people to hit the ball out and if they let it bounce it jumps forward. Also unlike she says I like to be in the middle of the court on the kitchen line I can guard the middle half the court. most of the time they hit the ball right down the middle. As I’ve stated on other videos the best defense against a lob is a lob but people rarely hit lobs they’re afraid of them but they don’t see the amount of errors they cause. For me if I was playing a team who were better then me I would lob it more often. It irritates people and frustrates people lobbing is the second best way to win by errors. Isolation is number 1. Look at Kyle Yates he loses more points trying to poach then any body else. I’ve seen him turn around during a point. Try to lob a whole game tho don’t 3r shot drop or drive only hit lobs and winners. If your not at the kitchen hit s lob. 1 of 2 outcomes will happen you win or you lose because you hit too many out balls and in that case practice your lob more. And if you can’t hit an overhead that’s coming right at you from 25 feet away you need to practice hand speed Now with all that said if you hit a lob every shot the game will take 45 to an hour and the other team will hate you. So if that the kind of pb player you want to be know as lob away

@@brianscidmore330 Unless you are playing older people whose limited mobility prevents them from quickly stepping back and jumping high, I have a hard time believing that your lob success is around 75%. A lob needs to be basically perfect in both height and depth unless you want an overhead smash coming back at you. If you can actually achieve that, then hats off to you. But if you're playing against people who aren't as agile as they used to be, then this guidance is really only relevant in that context.
