As someone coming from table tennis, who is comfortable putting topspin on a ball 6 inches off the ground, I LOVE slice returns. That's when I get the most clean winners off a 3rd shot hybrid, that hits someone's foot standing at the kitchen line. Biggest thing to do, is to return it to the middle. A sharp angle + slice return = jackpot for the other team.

What do you mean 'jackpot'? I love to hit crosscourt aggressive slice hybrids that cripple the opponent 90% of the time, they're lethal. That's one of my favorite shots. If I'm pulled out wide on the left side transition, look out charlie

@Cacheola If it's to the middle, there's much less space to hit a 3rd shot hybrid drive/drop. If the slice return is to a corner, you can get an easy 70% drive that still dips into the kitchen on your 3rd shot.

Just watched a Selkirk TV vid in which Large Father James says, in effect, “Don’t allow your feet to cross over when returning serves: it will hamper your ability to get to the NVZ line.” Yet here is Nunnery demonstrating a return of serve and crossing over when he hits that backhand slice. Who’s in charge of curriculum over there?

Slicing at an angle with same pace keep the ball very low and changes direction on the receiving end. I also didn't subscribe to the idea that all slices assist top spin bangers.
