Love your videos, but hate sprayed on grit. T-700 Toray Carbon Fiber only thanks.

Lasts a week or two then becomes smooth and the paddle is useless…..might as well buy a $30 Amaz paddle and save $150…..nanotac seems to be the solution unless they get delisted….
@kabob213 ай бұрын
@@123BV8 Nanotac's longevity is pretty unproven, though. Haven't seen any long-term reviews of Proton paddles and they've had lack of restocks for awhile until just this week.
@kabob213 ай бұрын
It's pricey but Selkirk's Labs Project 006 has 3 layers of T700 and a layer of 12k raw carbon fiber face. Seems to be their best all-court paddle. The Halo and Vanguard paddles also have raw CF faces.
@123BV83 ай бұрын
@@kabob21 Heavy though and the size seems to be a cross between a standard and hybrid? I think they list it as an elongated? How does the peel ply hold up?

I am using v7 vatic and want to switch to Selkirk, but I don’t know which one. I have played tennis and table tennis before, so I have a pretty good forehand and can volley backhand well. Please recommend me one. Thank you.
@pickleballplaybookАй бұрын
Do you have a two handed or one handed backhand?
@enrico8730Ай бұрын
Thinking of either the luxx or amped. How long do these paddles last before you gotta replace it?
@pickleballplaybookАй бұрын
As long as other paddles since they don’t have a frame that can easily break. How often do you play?
@enrico8730Ай бұрын
@@pickleballplaybookI pretty much play every other day since I just started. Sometimes morning and evening a few times a week
@pickleballplaybookАй бұрын
Yeah I’d suggest Luxx if you need control and amped if you’re looking for more power. Both excellent paddles!
@dominionn094 ай бұрын
I'm still a fan of Luxx overall. I tried the new amped and it feels flimsy and cheap to me
@pickleballplaybook4 ай бұрын
Interesting. I love the Luxx still, just needed some more power and I really like the feel of the new AMPED. The power air feels like wood to me hahaha
@dominionn094 ай бұрын
@@pickleballplaybook Agree. I mean I'm not a 5.0 plus player I'm more like a 4.25-4.5 so I'm probably hitting the "wood" part of the mixture on the Amped. 😂 Whereas the Luxx gives me more margin for error
@jabbaradaya58323 ай бұрын
I am looking to get the amped pro air, however I am second guessing myself with your mention of how the grit is sprayed on. I am playing about 3 times a week, but does that mean that I can only use this paddle for 3 months? Also, is there a way to retexturize the surface?
@pickleballplaybook3 ай бұрын
Correct. The grit will last you 3-6 months. I’d say your average paddle in that price range will last around 6 months playing 3 days a week. Hopefully that helps!
@jabbaradaya58323 ай бұрын
@@pickleballplaybook Thank you so much for your reply! Do you recommend any other paddles that offer these sort of specs with a bit more longevity?
@pickleballplaybook3 ай бұрын
There aren’t any with similar specs. I’d suggest the amped to anyone honestly!

Does proton make an edgeless carbon fiber paddle?
@pickleballplaybook3 ай бұрын
No. They use a different material. I heard it lasts for a long time!!
@kabob213 ай бұрын
Yes, the Series Two Edgeless Ultra Soft. But it has a spray-grit surface like Selkirk.
