6:48 That the Slingerbag came with balls was a perk for me. When I bought it at $599, the fact that it came with balls and pickup tube made the effective cost of the machine less than $500 (because I would have had to buy both). Maybe you have so many balls to throw 60 balls away, but I don't think that is most people's experience
@pickleballplaybook23 күн бұрын
You still have to get 40 balls from somewhere else. If they’re nice balls? It’ll make a big difference hitting from one ball to the next. If you could somehow buy 40 of their same balls that’d make more sense to me but you can’t 🤷
@somarmd10 күн бұрын
It looks like the Slinger is currently 799. Are they available for 599 or did you buy it used? Thank you.
@ccbowers10 күн бұрын
@@somarmd the original comment was from a couple weeks back. I bought it maybe a month ago. They had a large discount during the holiday season plus there was a discount code I used on top of that. Prices have changed although there are probably other discount codes around that will get you a little bit of a discount
@somarmd9 күн бұрын
@ that’s awesome. An absolute no brainer for that price. I would pull the trigger today if I can find that discount. Thank you.
@ccbowers9 күн бұрын
@@somarmd That's what I thought too. I was thinking about one of the lobster machines, but seemed like a no brainer for the slingerbag at only $600. Performance seems good with my very limited testing (I live in a snowy area so I only had a narrow window of dry weather that wasn't too cold to test it). My original concern was uncertain durability but it seems to be made pretty well, especially at the price. If you're patient, I'd look during the usual sales seasons, because I think they do have regular sales. Maybe not quite to the black Friday pricing but maybe low enough for you to pull the trigger

I think the removable battery on the Titan is a great idea. With this, I can leave the machine in my car and just bring the battery in to charge. Is the battery on the Slinger removable also? Or would I need to bring the whole machine in to charge it?
@pickleballplaybook10 ай бұрын
It is removable also on the slinger but a bit more tricky. To remove it you need a screw driver!

Is there any more information about the Slinger balls? Who makes them to buy more balls that play the same or similarly ?
@pickleballplaybook23 күн бұрын
They’re just very low end almost indoor balls. Not high quality like you’d get if you bought the balls separately. Hope that helps!
@kimleith137810 ай бұрын
Great side by side comparison. Curious how the Titan does a "flat" shot. Would like to set the machine at net height (on a table) at the NVZ line to shoot a "flat" ball at speed. Another question, do shot speeds change as the battery gets low? Also are the throw wheels made of the same material? Do the wheels get dirty quickly and how easy are they to clean.
@pickleballplaybook10 ай бұрын
It does a flat ball. Very fast. Week changes to the same color as the balls. Haven’t cleaned my wheel because I like the color honestly. Battery level doesn’t effect speed from what I’ve seen

If you are a strong 4.5 looking to go to 5.0+ get the Titan. If you're a 3.0 + get the slinger. I own the slinger and it's helped me a lot

Great video!!! I want that Titan but will stick with my Slinger that should ship this week. I like the idea of the custom drills but think the main use case for a machine is a lot of repeating shots taking out variability to help learn the motion. I dunno maybe I'll upgrade later

This 100%. I'm primarily working on my consistency and directionality, so the Slinger is perfect right now. But as my game improves and if I continue to use the Slinger regularly, I will seriously consider upgrading to the Titan.

Solid review. Thx for putting it together. Any info on the history of the two companies? I believe both machines are relatively new but did the companies make tennis ball machines previously? Were they reliable? And how long have the companies been in business?
@pickleballplaybook10 ай бұрын
Slinger has been in the tennis industry since 2020. They started making pickleball machines in 2023. Titan created tennis and pickleball machines in 2023. Both great companies, with the highest ratings as far as reliability, and customer care. I couldn’t in good faith recommend another ball machine company over them.

How accurate is the Titan ball machine in hitting intended spots. On the website one reviewer was critical of this. Thanks
@pickleballplaybook8 ай бұрын
I’d suggest only doing drills that you upload through a QR code. It’s not 100% accurate I. How it depicts where a ball is going to land, but the already programmed drills are awesome. They’re on their website and KZbin for you to put into the machine

@marxalenina3 ай бұрын
I’d say the question is to what level you want to get and how ow serious are you about your training. I’m not yet a 4.5 but I hope to keep working to the point of taking advantage of the Titan greater capabilities. So I rather going for the Titan that ultimately will have more longevity in my training.

The Titan is king! I do not recommend the slinger to anyone
@cosmicaudio94526 ай бұрын
One difference according to the specs put out by each company is that at its quickest, the Titan can be set to feed a ball at one per second, while the Slinger's minimum delay is a ball every 2 seconds. It would seem the Slinger, in many circumstances, won't be able to simulate how quickly a return would come back to you in a real game.
@pickleballplaybook6 ай бұрын
Good point. Imo the slinger has a very accurate feed for feeling like a real point when you crank it up. But Titan can definitely go a bit faster. The problem is that when you have the Titan do a fast ball then a slow ball, it take a bit longer than a second cause it has to slow the mortar down or speed it up!
@mikeoliver86110 ай бұрын
The Titan is almost triple the price of the SlingerBag. I'm not sure this is going to be a fair comparison.

What I’m starting to find is myself NOT buying things anymore that have Apps…Why? Because to keep the Apps optimized, takes lots of developer support. Especially when say Apple rolls out an update and jacks everything up. Developers in hand to keep the Apps going costs $$. As long as the business is big and the products are generating a lot of money, Apps stay updated. As soon as sales slow, developers (anything service related takes a hit). It’s how things work for every business but I think we all just think Apps will alwys eork, and a lot just seem to fail, or never get updated…and then the product t becomes useless.

Slinger is my choice it as it has top spin and remote and a reasonable price. Just set the drills up yourself. Unless you're using it DAILY the Titan is not worth it. I use my Tutor Mini about 3 times a month. I expect you'll do about the same as drilling with a partner is better and you also will want to play. Unless of course price doesn't matter as it doesnt to some people.

I have a Tutor plus and I'm sick of having to manually change it for every shot then test balls and dial it in which can take 10+ balls sometimes depending on what you're adjusting it from. Just ordered a Titan and can't wait to sell my Tutor which is a PIA 😂

@@pickleballplaybook yeah I havent used the Titan only the Slinget and Tutor Mini. I've had the Tutor for awhile and was going to replace it with the Slinger but then just decided against it on the amount of use.
