Hello Family, let's make pickled fish homemade pie. This was so yummy i had to share the recipe with you.
Ingredients used:
3 ONIONS
FISH MEDALIONS (CUT INTO CUBES)
1 CUP OF ALL PURPOSE FLOUR (SEASONED WITH SALT & BLACK PEPPER)
TO MAKE THE SAUCE:
1 CUP OF WATER
1 CUP OF BROWN VINEGAR
1 CUP OF SUGAR
3 TBSP PICKLE MASALA MIX
1 TBSP CAPE MALAY CURRY
1 TEASPOON OF SALF
1 TBSP TURMERIC
6-7 BAY LEAFS
Pickling mix spice use the above and the following
1 TBSP BLACK PEPPERCORNS
1 TEASPOOON OF CORIANDER SEEDS
1 Tbsp of masala spice
BOIL FOR 8-10 MINUTES
After 10 minutes, mix 1/2 cup of water with 1 tsp/tbsp of cornstarch and pour over your pickled fish sauce to thicken the sauce. allow the sauce to thicken uncovered for 3 minutes then remove from the heat.
Pour pickling sauce over your hake.
Let's make a pie.
please kindly note that you can make a pie how ever you wish. you can make many pies.
I'm just here to tell you that the combination works.
1. Thaw your puff pastry in the fridge or room temperature
2. Flour your surface and place your puff pastry.
3. Use the pastry while it's still cold (not frozen) to get a flaky pie.
4. no need to roll it. You can go ahead and fill your pastry with your yummy pickled fish
5. Place the second puff pastry on top of your filling.
6. close your pie or pies.
7. Coat with egg wash to get a beautiful golden pie
8. Place in a pre-heated 180 degrees oven and bake for 30 minutes or until the pie is nice and golden.
