Big rigs have them. Not factory installed but, lot of trucking is companies make it a requirement and condition of employment. Lots of people can't stand them from the privacy stand point. I think a lot of people would be of a similar mindset if cars all had factory dash cams. Should be up to the owner of the car. I do think it would be great factory option tho. But, car companies would make you pay a monthly subscription fee for it to work. Easier to just buy one yourself, install it and have it as a one time purchase with no subscriptions or anything else

There’s a huge privacy issue with that. Especially if the car manufacturer has access to the camera. But if it stores locally, and can be turned off, then that’s a reasonable idea.

Final clip: The Big Boy is the world's largest _OPERATIONAL_ steam locomotive. @SpawnofChaos2 ай бұрын
@@Urugami45 Depends on what you classify as "bigger." The 2-6-6-6 Allegheny was heavier and could haul more tonnage, but it was much slower; I believe Eerie's Triplex was longer, as well as Santa Fe's fairly insane 2-10-10-2. One thing that makes the Big Boy such a popular locomotive compared to many others of similar size, weight, and hauling capacity is UP's advertising way back when. UP heavily advertised the Big Boy, making it a poster child and spreading knowledge of its abilities far and wide. Of the other locomotives I mentioned, I'd say only the Triplex came close to the same level of widespread awareness, and that was more due to its uniqueness than any marketing.

The Big Boy was an articulated steam locomotive and was created by the Union Pacific Railroad for crossing the Rocky Mountains. It is the only 4-8-8-4 produced. The term 'articulated' refers to the fact that the frame of the locomotive could pivot or swivel in the center to accommodate curves or turns along the rail route due to the long length of the locomotive. The first '4' refers to the four leading wheels which help steam locomotives navigate turns and keep the powered driving wheels from jumping track and derailing, The '8' refers to the powered drive wheels which are the wheels that make a locomotive move. In the case of the Big Boy's they had two sets of eight drive wheels each. This is mostly unique among steam locomotives. The final '4' refers to the trailing wheels under the engineers cab. These helped support the weight of cab, as well as providing extra space for the fire box and lowering the boiler behind the drive wheels. They are worth reading about. Most are now museum displays.

I agree. After 3 major accidents, & several minor fender benders, all their faults, it's not worth it to get into an accident. Sure, it doesn't cost me anything. But I lost my time dealing with insurance, taking my car to collision repair, getting a rental, then reverse the process. It's NOT fixed to 100% before the accident, maybe 99%. Things are slightly off by 1 mm. Door seals leaks, emergency parking brake got stuck, rear axle leaks. Now I drive to the far left/right of my lane, instead of being centered. After the intersection just turns green, I check for red light runners as I approach the intersection.
