@@artecat13 after purchasing meta q 3 and after a dozen or so minutes of gameplay session you will very quickly come to the conclusion that you need to immediately replace the head strap and this is an additional more than 100 dollars, the head strap that is included in the set is not suitable for use, it was added only because it is inappropriate to sell vr without a head strap.

I have the Pico 4 Ultra (an upgrade from the Pico 4). Even though some games no longer work on my Pico 4, I wouldn’t go back to it. However, it’s important to note that the Pico 4 Ultra is not in direct competition with the Quest 3. Both headsets are excellent, but the Pico 4 Ultra stands out for its superior comfort. If you’re into photography, the Pico 4 is an outstanding choice. Uploading pictures to the headset is simple using the Pico app on your phone. In contrast, the Quest 3 requires SideQuest and a PC for this process. I particularly enjoy taking panorama pictures, which the Pico 4's photo app displays breathtakingly well. Unfortunately, the Quest 3 doesn’t support this feature in the same way. The Pico 4 Ultra also enables you to capture 3D (spatial) videos and photos. However, there’s a downside: due to a lack of compatible software, it’s currently not possible (or at least I haven’t found a program) to edit those 3D videos effectively.

Thanks for the great video. The Ultra appears to be more expensive than the Q3, but the Q3 requires a head strap and if you add up the price it is almost the same, the Pico can add a tracker at a lower cost so it is relatively cost effective. It also has a wide internal viewing angle and a wide stereoscopic range. It is often said that the lens quality and resolution is not as good as the Q3, but the difference is small and no affect the experience. I think it's a nice product. The main concern when buying this product is that it is made by a Chinese company. 💀💀💀

Wondering if anyone has time to answer a quick question on the Pico4 ultra consumer edition. I just purchased and having problems with setting and maintaining a larger play space or boundary. Ie. I know and can setup a 3x3m playspace, floor level etc. No problem. But when its accepted and i move, i shows a small blue circle (standing boundary) on the floor and when i move outside of that small circle (even though i created a 3x3m playspace) and when i move out of that circle, i can see the real room around me. Why didnt my 3x3m playspace take hold? Please help

Similar but not the same. They are a bit heavier, and they have five buttons instead four like on the Quest. Two buttons are sticking out a bit and when you are in Virtual Desktop, that outstanding button on the left controller is the button to get out of VR. Very handy.

from what i can tell it is not .. besides the technology of the lenses and screens.. the difference is Meta uses the meta store for stand alone use. So you wouldn't get access to some of meta's exclusive games/apps such as Gun Raider and Meta Horizons, just to name a few. Also, you would not be able to connect socially with people through Meta. To me it is a risky thing to buy an expensive headset and then learn about all the details of what one can and can't do, over the other. It seems that meta is still the VR leader in terms of its reach and number of actively used headsets. This is giving them the lead for attracting more game and app developers. and the meta quest 3s is $299. it may not have the pancake lenses. but it can be a bridge device untill meta releases a new more powerful and improved headset and perhaps even at a lower price or same price. I sure would like to be able to use a pico 4 Ultra for a month to see what i think about it.

Liked my original Pico, but their store is rubbish. Horrible customer ‘service’, so sold original Pico. The new one is stupidly priced far too high. Tough luck China, you’ve lost out to Meta. This is just an advert, not a review.

The price point of this headset is way too high after Meta dropped the prices on the Quest 3. I was going to get Pico 4 Ultra and it would have been 160$ cheaper than Quest 3 512GB. After the price drop I got the Quest 3 512GB model and the Batman arkham shadow included for 40$ less than Pico 4 Ultra. Pico 4 Ultra have a very slight resolution advantage over Q3 but still have a lower ppd and the lenses are much worse and still looks less clear and suffers from god ray issues if they still use the same optics as the non ultra version. I know it very well because I had the Pico 4 for over 2 years after upgrading from the Quest 2. 12GB ram is nice but nothing will benefit from it unless Bytedance spends a lot of money on games made exclusively for them. Nobody is going to make a game that can not run on the Quest unless they are paid upfront. Bytedance claims that the Pico 4 Ultra have 25% improved brightness compared to the regular 4 which had a brightness range of 20 - 60 nits which means the Ultra is good for 75 nits. I am not saying that the Pico 4 Ultra is bad as a total package. It is just not worth the asking price.

@@realmeee I have not tested it with virtual desktop yet but will do it very soon. The text clarity in stand alone is very good and easily readable. I have been focused on the standalone experience for now and it is the best clarity, colors and brightness of all the vr headsets I have owned. I have owned, PSVR, Rift S, Quest 2 and Pico 4 earlier so I can only compare to these. Pico Ultra have the same optical stack as Pico 4 so it should look very similar except for the brightness.
