Jon Lord - Pictured within (In memory of my Dad who played this song often, and was one of his favorites. Now it's one of my most loved songs as well.) Here be friends... Here be heroes... Here be sunshine... Here be grey... Here be life... Here love lies bleeding... Memories so hazy... And dreams that drove me crazy. Here be dawn... Here be paradise... Here be starbright... Here be pain... Here be smiles in eyes like rainbows... My father and my mother... My sisters and my brother. Pictured within... Where there're shadows in prime moonlight... There are dragons I have slain... And here be bright eyes with hair so golden... Sunrise and sunset and running free... And laughing at the rain. Here be home... Here be travellin'... Here be thunder... Here be blue... And sometimes heaven and thoughts of wonder... The miracle of children... A poet and a pilgrim. Kith and kin - pictured within. Lose and win - pictured within .

It is not "one of" the greatest songs ever performed....this is IT! NEVER will you see such perfection of performance, mood, professionalism, and a song with a theme of our dreams and their ability to reach into the past, into dreams beyond our reality... this is a miracle... This cannot be topped....

I am highly recommending that people listen to this song if they are going through grief issues. I personally lost my mother only a month ago and this song has helped ease my grief. Really, this song is one of the most simple yet complex explorations of the soul and human spirit. My mother and my father, my sisters and my brother, pictured within for eternity. I played Josh Groban's '"To Where You Are" as well as this masterpiece over and over to help me grieve.

I became aware of this track and of the album thanks to this live DVD /CD.. I then followed what Jon Lord had done as a solo artist (after his seventies albums that I knew and were very different). Pictured Within is a magnificent album, and the title track is a masterpiece. What amazed me is not to know this singer, Miller Anderson, who's actually more a blues guitar player, I finally discovered ! He sings this so beautifully... R.I.P. Jon Lord....
