Hi, Thanks for sharing. Start loving orchids and don't have any Vanda. They seems to be easier to take care. Great video and will buy one or two. From the seeds, how you proceed with the vanda orchids cultivation? Hope to hear from you. Daniel from France.
@PictureMaria15 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for joining me on my orchid adventures! ...and yes vandas are such beautiful and wonderful orchids. Now because they can have quite a mass of roots many do complain about how tedious the daily waterings can be. But if you can keep it outdoors it is so much easier to care for. As far as propagation through seed...now that is pretty difficult and that applies for majority orchids. The seeds are usually propagated within a lab type setting with a strenuous sterilization process and different chemicals involved. Your average grower usually does not have the capabilities and is usually left to those that specialize orchid sewing and flasking. I myself have not attempted the process but there are videos on youtube that can further explain and help you determine if it is a challenge you want to try.
@danieljheelan52565 жыл бұрын
@@PictureMaria1 Thanks / Merci for your reply. I am in France: do you know from where I can buy some in flask or from young plant. Bought seeds in the past but they were not orchid seeds. If you have some shops or reliable links from where it will be possible de buy: it will be great. Daniel

Thank you so much for your concern to answer my questions regarding my orchid plants☺. 1.I have a few DENDROBIUM orchids and after blooming and only its stems are left now and no more new plants are coming up(shoots) what can I do? 2. Also all leaves From it's stems (Bulbs)have fallen and now left with stems only ..So how can I re grow these stems ? What are the steps should i follow to have new plants?
@PictureMaria16 жыл бұрын
I remember I had some dendrobiums that were nothing but canes and did not do anything for over a year...and just as I was going to give up on them, I decided to take them out of their pots and low and behold underneath the media they had started to grow new growths. I was shocked. I would suggest perhaps taking them out of the media and making sure that that they are not rotting. If they appear to be okay then simply keep taking care of them as normal...they should eventually start growing new growths. ..oh and of course keep your fingers crossed. I will keep my fingers crossed for you as well. Good luck!

I have one accidental single pseudobulb of brassavola nadosa with a single eye is it will survive? Like yours or I may throw it (secretly I don't like to throw that pseudobulb) so guide me in potted in sphagnum moss with rooting hormone am I going right?
@PictureMaria16 жыл бұрын
Since you live in a very dry climate...I would suggest growing it in a terrarium with moistened moss...in that way you won't have to spritz it with water as much and it will get the moisture and humidity it needs to encourage growth of roots and new growth. I will be doing a video soon showing how I am rescuing and growing some orchids that have needed extra help...so stay tuned for more.

Are you contemplating name's for passable possibilities yet?
@PictureMaria16 жыл бұрын
Of course!!! But there is a process to naming orchids and it isn't just that simple. I am going to have to register them when they bloom and that of course can take about 5 - 7 years...so I still have time.

@benwinkel6 жыл бұрын
To use later on flower's that have yet to open. She explains it in the video 3:03

Yes...many of the flowers were aging and on the verge of becoming spent...so in order to pollinate the tatzerii I would have to save the pollen.
@j.d.80756 жыл бұрын
To be honest, until you flower them - in 5-7 years, it shall really be hard knowing which cross shall give you the best results. We are basing the crosses on the observed characteristics of the current flowers but there isn't any real way of knowing what recessive genes are in them and which of those recessive characteristics could come out.
@j.d.80756 жыл бұрын
@@PictureMaria1 I have Asperger's [a form of Autism] - so this is just how my brain actually works... this is my curiosity of wanting to see ALL the seedlings flowered - sometimes over 100 per flask - so I can see all the variation in the flowers and even the plants, as well as those sneaky recessive characteristics...
@PictureMaria16 жыл бұрын
Of course there is no actual way of telling. I was just asking for opinions and thoughts that's all.

@@j.d.8075 I already know that this will be my most challenging orchid experience yet. I hate the crazy wait time and I know it is going to be absolutely grueling for me! Thanks for watching and HAPPY GROWING!
@j.d.80756 жыл бұрын
@@PictureMaria1 I can tell you one thing though... the vanda with the tesselated petal pattern... that tessellation shall be carried through... to varying degrees... tesselation tends to be a dominant rather than recessive factor.

If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:15 KJV Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: Exodus 20:8-9 KJV Saturday is the day of the Lord The claim that Christ by his death abolished his Father’s law, is without foundation. Had it been possible for the law to be changed or set aside, then Christ need not have died to save man from the penalty of sin. The death of Christ, so far from abolishing the law, proves that it is immutable. The Son of God came to “magnify the law, and make it honorable.” [Isaiah 42:21.] He said, “Think not that I am come to destroy the law;” “till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in nowise pass from the law.” [Matthew 5:17, 18.] And concerning himself he declares, “I delight to do thy will, O my God; yea, thy law is within my heart.” [Psalm 40:8.] GC88 466.3 Ecclesiastes 12:13 KJV Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
