This is the single best explanation of PID control I have ever come across since I was first exposed to it 4 years ago. Often times as engineers, we get math equations thrown at us, but the intuition behind that math is lacking. This video is perfect for developing an intuitive understanding of those concepts.

Great lecture! I have two questions concerning the paths (4:09) thought: 1. Why is it only k_p and not k_p*s on the proportional path? 2. How comes you multiply the k_i with 1/s and not f.ex. s on the integral path?

PaJo GaMo 1.Kp. is a linear function not a exponential function. So we do not multiply anything to it 2. Ki times integral of e^st is simply Ki * 1/s 3. Kd times derivative of e^st is simply Kd * s

Awesome video... got stuck for a bit on your charts though. I think your derivative plot in blue is a bit off, when the red line goes flat the derivative plot should be at zero and then go above the x axis once the red plot has positive slope.

+Brian Douglas Sir the lecture was awesome. I think that if you had used 3 different types of error curves to show PID like for eg in case of I Controller you could have used constant erroe curve. Sir, either I got your concept well enough that's why I am suggesting you or I missed something. In the later case please correct me sir.
