In other words.Eg If I buy a house and I have got to pay the bank back 10,000 00 rand per month and I hire that place out for R10,000 00 because maybe I have to look after my aged mother for a period of time. The tenants suddenly can't pay me, but I still have to pay the bank. It will cost me approximately thirty thousand rand to evict my non paying tenants. Why must I, as a landlord, pay for the tenants' rent while they stay free, plus pay the huge court costs to remove them . Don't tell me I can recuperate my costs from the tenants. If they don't have money to pay the rent, how will they have money to pay outstanding rent and court costs? The PIE act only looks after tenants as it stands now. Which is very wrong. The tenants know this and take advantage of this.

The decision to promulgate the ACT was done out of spite to farmers, it was not well thought of. Real estate is a casualty of this Act.

What makes people think that the Government has to provide them with a house? If people are illegally occupying somebody else's land divide it into the section that they are on and make them pay to compensate the owner and then pay rates, like everybody else. Charge them for installing the infrastructure if they want water and power. That is the problem with South Africans, they think they have a right to live free. At the end of Apartheid the people who had been disadvantaged were promised a house. Anyone born after 1994 is not entitled to a freebie. Why must taxpayers pay for them to live free?
