So true, piececool is really a great brand. The MU metal models are also really good, especially the newer ones.

how long did it take you to assemble the flying dutchman?
@carinasecke Жыл бұрын
I don't know because I don't look at the time. I don't build the models all at once. I work on it maybe 1-2 hours a day and some days I don't build anything at all. I also take all the photos for the video, so it takes me longer to build a model. It also depends how long you take your time for the single steps, everyone works at different speeds. It take how long it takes🤷♀️
@HeyzDexy2 жыл бұрын
seeing as it is made of metal, are the pieces sharp?
@carinasecke2 жыл бұрын
Not really, as far as I know they are laser cut. Some parts can be pointy, depends on the shape itself. You also have to clip the parts out cleanly so that there are no burrs.

what tools do i need for this build?
@carinasecke2 жыл бұрын
I used side cutters to get the pieces out of the sheets and jewelry pliers, long needle-nose, round-nose, flat-nose pliers,drills to bend the pieces, but you could also use different tweezers.
@wastedsoul10242 жыл бұрын
@@carinasecke So it doesnt need glue?
@carinasecke2 жыл бұрын
@@wastedsoul1024 no you don't need glue to build these models. Only if you accidentally break a piece you could use UV glue or superglue.

@carinasecke Жыл бұрын
@@G3nsis1Honestly, I don't remember the dimensions. I just use the end part of drills. I always start with a bigger diameter and work my way down to the right size.

I would not really recommend this for a beginner. But it always depends on your skills. It's definitely not an easy one.

@__qing2642 yes you need tools to make it. At least wire-cutting pliers or something similar and tweezers. Or you can use different kind of smaller pliers.

Man! you know what annoys me about this build? i'm on step 8, and the rigging lines that you need to install on the second level of the mast... the way the holes are cut in the circular pieces that are supposed to be places on top of the second mast pole and the rigging.... it's like slightly off. however, if you place the 2nd mast pole in the hole opposite of the one that it tells you in the instructions, THEN the rigging lines fit perfectly into the piece. B40, is the piece I'm referring to. In order to do it the way the instructions describe you have to bend the rigging lines which makes them look... weird. But you Can't put it in the hole that would negate this bending because then the rigging lines in a future step (step 12) wouldn't line up. I came to your video to see if maybe I'm missing something but nope I see you followed the instructions just the way I'm doing lol. Cheers on the build. This is one badass ship! Let me know your thoughts on this step I'm talking about. Nice work!
@carinasecke2 жыл бұрын
I honestly have to admit I don't remember having any issues with that part. I only remember putting on the tail was a little bit of a pain and the last rigging parts because I didn't know how to hold the ship without messing something up. These ships are so awesome. And thank you ⚘️

@@carinaseckeI’m thinking of buying the abyssal ghost (actually called Silent Mary but not sure why they don’t call it that on the package) as my first one but I just wanted to get some insight into how the build process has been for others on that or similar ship models like Anne’s revenge and Dutchman. Is it true that it’s easy to irreversibly damage a piece or bend it the wrong way? Are the directions confusing if you haven’t done one before or is it pretty simple? Thanks!
@carinasecke Жыл бұрын
I didn't build the ship Abyssal Ghost. But I think the building process will be like the other ships, and not really suitable for beginners. I would recommend starting with a simpler model if you have never built a metal model before. The instructions are usually very easy to understand. It shows what the part should look like before and after bending. Yes, it can happen that a part is bent in the wrong direction or even irreversibly damaged. But if you still want to start with this one, than go for it. It always depends on the skills eveyone has. I hope you have fun with building.
@LauraDelvecchio Жыл бұрын
I agree with Carina. You can definitely ruin a piece easily, but the instructions are also clear. The metal has a life of it's own and you'll only get the feel for it by toying around with a model kit or two, so I recommend getting a really cheap one to practice on, then dive into the ship! I haven't built the abyssal ghost either but the annes revenge and dutchman were both what I would consider complex build, but I had a blast building them and would do it again. Good luck!@@BarcaFan1899
