Yea...... But after watching this over 10 times now ..... You can definitely see if was scripted to go that way. The way they do a move wait for a split second and do another move. All the other fights hold more weight in my opinion

Hwang Jang Lee has said, in his entire career, there has been only one person who had the best rhythm and chemistry on screen when performing their ballet fights together. And that man was Jackie Chan. Also, there were no mistakes during the filming and proud of that also.

Yes. But I have heard that Jackie didn't like Hwang Jang Lee too much as even though he was excellent her had no great control over his kicks and movement. He was tough no doubt . He injured some of the actors whilst filming the scenes. This was not received well by Jackie of course. Jackie as a result didn't do many films with him.

Fun Fact: Yuen Siu-tien, who played the old Drunken Master that teaches Jackie, is the real-life father of the movie's director/fight choreographer Yuen Woo-ping. Yuen Woo-ping has directed/ did fight choreography for countless Hong Kong and Hollywood movies. Jackie and Hwang are just beasts in this film. Talk about peak physical shape - they do more in 5 seconds of fighting than we can do in years of training. This movie holds it's own in 2022. A landmark martial arts film. Also, Thunderleg is the greatest martial arts trash-talker ever. His lines were just hilarious.

Chan’s antagonist, Hwang Jang-lee, was a renowned taekwondo expert and on the DVD which I owned in the good old days, there are extras of him performing some outrageously gnarly kicks on 2/3 targets at once.

That section at about 5:10 where Jackie starts doing kip-ups and whatever else on the ground is insane athleticism. Also the long lens, no shaky cam, no fancy photography just straight lens showing the choreography is stunning. So glad that style is back in "Hollywood" thanks to stuff like John Wick (and others). Just glad it's back. This is still a landmark action/king fu title. Early J. Chan has no parallel really...

Not really. I trained for about a month as a teenager after watching these movies and could do all that easly. It is not as hard as it looks. Jackie Chan does much more difficult stuff than this, stuff that would take years and years of practice and then you would still need natural born talent too. Not to mention his dangerous stunts, holy crap.

The exchange at 8:01 is kind of crazy and SO much fun. Jackie goes for an elbow strike, it's blocked, he extends the arm to grab Hwang's shoulder, which Hwang sweeps away... and then Jackie uses the momentum of that sweep to spin his arm around and hit Hwang on the other side of the head?! Whaaaat that's both amazing and hilarious.

This is by far one of the greatest martial arts movies ever made. Definitely Jackie Chan's greatest movie. Love Sui Yin Yien as well. Perfectly choreographed and love the dubbed voices. This movie was on Crackle for a few years and then it disappeared. Cant find it on any streaming service anf almost impossible to find.

Toriyama himself said that the whole reason he started drawing the story was because his editor noticed he kept watching this movie on repeat and suggested that he make a martial arts manga after he finished _Dr. Slump_ And the rest is history!

Jackie chan is the greatest master alive. No one can do death defying stunts like him. He has shown our world what a true human indomitable spirit is about. He took action choreography to new heights and mixed with comedy and pure creative styles.drunken master is epic. We spent nights watching his movies on VHS tapes. Jackie will remain a legend and we harboured a dream to meet him and bow kn reverence for showing us what true art form is about. He is the rarest of humans and we are blessed to be sharing earth time and watching a true master in flow. Hwang is a monster kicker and this fight is truly legendary in terms of pure choreography and chemistry. Movies offlate and dead with stupid gun fights and less skill oriented. People have become lazy and looking for drugs and pleasure. Martial arts movies are badly needed to inspire next gen with true effort. Jackie we love you and are in deepest gratitude for all your phenomenal effort to entertain and inspire us.❤️

That was the first Jackie Chan movie i saw, it was arount 1982 and i was 8,9 years old. I was so fascinated from this movie, i watched it till the VHS tape was giving up. Absolute Classic! It was titled "Sie nannten ihn Knochenbrecher" in german "They called him Bonecrusher"

Funny thing about these fight scenes, if you focus you attention on Jackie, it looks like a legit fight. Instead, if you focus on the opponent, it looks choreographed.

I love a villain with depth. Thunder leg had a secret weapon (The devil's shadowless hands) but didn't need to use it until this fight. It made for a better fight because the hero had to dig that much deeper to beat him, seeing he had not practiced the last style.

Whenever I saw these sequences it amazes me that he can fight for MMA disciplines. He's hands, elbows, knees, kicks, and even his body push are something that many fighters can't even practice in the gym

Benny the Jet Urquidez even praised Jackie Chan’s abilities so much that he believes that Jackie would make a great kickboxing/MMA champion if he went for it. Chinese martial arts are no joke. They’re are all for real-life situations.
