🎶I guess a break is just a break until it's broken You're noticing that it's been so long I guess I'm learnin' for certain it wasn't worth it Deservin' this, yeah, it feels so wrong You took a shot at me, I took it pretty hard Sweepin' up a shattered broken heart Guess you really love me to pieces for a reason Tryna find the silver lining and seeing Why does leavin' lead to bleedin'? Cut me deeper than the cracks in the ceiling Wasn't easy but I'm findin' out them words can have a whole 'nother meaning Guess you really love me to pieces I guess I should've known better that I'd be better off But something had me holdin' on I guess this hanging and dangling left me strangling And trust me, that ain't somethin' you want Sometimes subliminal meanings can mean the literal You left me critical Guess you really love me to pieces for a reason Tryna find the silver lining and seeing Why does leavin' lead to bleedin'? The riff to this song is from the song “The Funeral” by Band of Horses. I’d bet that was no coincidence because the two songs share a common motif-an ill-fated relationship which began and ended on broken communication; things we should have noticed, mentioned, talked about, etc., but didn’t. We looked away, ignored it, told ourselves it will come up one day eventually and we don’t need to push it, because we feared saying something might ruin everything, Ironically, that’s the very reason it ends, and when it does, we look back on all the things we feel we should have said, like maybe if we had things would have turned out differently. But our hearts know, if they had wanted to know, they would have asked. They didn’t ask because they didn’t care, they already had all they wanted. It wasn’t what we wanted, and we knew that all along, and that’s why we were afraid to speak. We kept hoping it would eventually become what we wanted, if we just wait it out. If we speak up, we might lose them, but we knew all along that if we really did have their heart, we never would have felt afraid to speak up about anything, because real love sets us free from fear. False love makes us a slave to fear. The funeral was inevitable. At every occasion we were ready for it.

Your depth in understanding such an abstract notion is rarely paralleled on this I feel sure, when considered are both parts: True understanding, and ability to communicate clearly with a force that begets understanding. Welder of words, inherently you seem in comfortable possession, the quality of the teachers of this plain this place. So lovely to have been allowed to cross paths with to me, what seems a perfect example I and I, or ones self-observer/ observing unseen ethereal self and ones self working in random like a left and right hand on a string wheel, as it has been explained to me. A concept called "I and myself owner. I am like a child learning and surely this concept will elude my true understanding this life as it is so much bigger than I could hope to be. How fortunate i might be to maybe, just maybe recognize a person operating in their whole self? Please forgive me for my lack of true knowledge there I'm still learning but the point was. thank you

I myself listen to this and hear my truth. Which started as a young child with my father being in an out of my life. He was there but yet he wasn't. Then tragically he died in an automobile accident when I was only 13yrs old. It's beautiful done. Maybe we listen to a song we're just meant to hear what we need to hear

7 years ago I met this really cool guy. We had our fun off and on over the years. One night he broke my heart but over time I forgave him and we remained friends Both of us married someone else and our marriages failed. Now 7 years later we found ourself falling in love with each other. We are both separated now and getting to know each other like we should of years ago. I sent him this song and we wanna dance to it when we have our wedding. Love this song!!! And I love him..... To peices...

Words cannot describe how I feel but the lyrics to this song did a hell of a job….. Colton Lee Johnson this has been our song ever since you played it for me that night, couple years ago just never thought fast forward a few years I would be living it and I honestly will probably always love you at least the you that stole my heart in a blink but just as fast as you stole my heart you took it and left it critical in a million pieces…. I wish you could’ve at least told me goodbye that’s all…. Maybe I’ll see you again but I’m no longer gonna hold on to that hope through each passing day… I’m choosing my peace and better days are ahead for me because I have a choice to make and I’m making that choice to live again but I’ll always love you. I just will no longer wait for you. It literally shows that you didn’t feel the same and everything you said and did was sadly just all lies and some damn good acting. YOU WERE THE PERFECT PRETENDER ❤️🩹

I seen every dream, every moment of a beautiful life together when he wrapped his arms around me, but I wasn't enough, I wasn't ever going to be enough.
