Depends on what I am doing. If I am chilling drinking beers I like baitfishing. If it is earlier and by myself I prefer lures. Also I don't always have access to bait ,but I always have lures.

I'll admit that I'm more of a fresh water fisherman, but I've always had more luck both on quantity and size on live bait rather than lures. I'm transitioning to saltwater so I'll stay open-minded and try both!

Depends on what you're going for. I stopped using night crawlers and any kind of worm for that matter. Little pieces of hotdog and a tiny bobber. I caught a decent brook trout on it, I've caught 10 inch fallfish, sunnies of all kinds, and even tiny bass. I want to give it a try it on some salt docks. It's been a go to. I've caught big and tiny on average sized lures so it's hard to say. Lures I have good hookup ratios. Hotdog as bait I have better hookup ratios than worms. It's all about finding the right bait and right lure. Different bodies of water, different fish react differently to lures. They're a hit or miss really

I honestly stopped using lures and use bluegill or yellow perch for bait 90% of the time. I have one small rod to catch bait and then use circle hooks for the bluegills/perch. I catch less small fish but get nice size pike, catfish and small mouth and large mouth bass.

If you want to catch even more, try using a very small piece of bloodworm (about 3/4"). You will catch more and not waste so much bait.

I'm a bait angler. I find bait more fun, tbh. Always exciting to get that surprise when your rod bends. Not to mention, you have to read the water like a book with bait. Idk, I just love fishing bait over lures.

I like throwing lures while I have a bait rod set up. I prefer lure fishing but this way I still get to lure fish with another rod set up so I have twice the chance at fish. Also it’s kind of one after another some days. Lure rod, bait rod, lure rod, etc etc

Many of the fishing piers in the galveston area are crowded with fishermen. With the current that runs through it's a good idea to use a surf weight to hold you bait in place otherwise you end up getting tangled with other people's lines. Artificial s are pretty much of no use in those conditions.

I fish lures most of the time ,if I see bunkers jumping out of of the water I know stripes and blue fish are hitting the bunkers so I put a piece of bunker on the hook with out sinker let it drift with the current it never fails to get a hit from stupect or blue fish ,just love it.

It’s all depends on the local fishing situation. If in US and other countries with good natural reservations, it’s easy no matter you use lure or bait. If in heavy fishing or polluting country, it’s difficult anyway.

Senko Skipper In heavily polluted countries, I don’t suggest you to do fishing because the pollutant is accumulating in fish body so as harmful to your health if you eat it. By the way, in China, most fishermen will cook the fish when they catch which is different from US or other countries which will set the fish free after catching. In heavily fished area, you may not catch any fish or size fish cause bigger size has gone already and even small size will also be captured by net fishing. Therefore, you may go to commercial fishing pound for fun.

Im catching snake head look a like fish in my country( suriname)with chicken meat and present it like lure. Try it even with ur blood worms u can try it when u get the chance. Pier fishing at night where I live in East Texas I mainly go after sand bass aka white bass with a rooster tail and the only time I use live bait is when I'm catfishing and I only use large night crawlers

Lures can be fun, and if you’re fishing just for sport and throwing back, then lures are fun way to catch a fish. If you fish for food, using actual live or dead bait is your best option to catch fish. It just depends what you want and how you like to fish. But there are many people who like to eat there fish caught on lures too.

I like to throw small lures and see what smaller fish are around. If I see a lot of smaller fish on the end of my line, see fry swimming around and fish jumping then it's a good spot for bait fishing when the shallow bite dies down.

I almost always prefer to lure fish. I’m not a big fan of hooking a squirmy worm, but I will when nothing is biting. I will throw out some hot dog bits or some cut bait or live line something I’ve already pulled out of the water. I just prefer the active style you get with a lure. I like to jerk and pop and drag too much o just sit there waiting for a bite

I've fished since I was a little kid and have never caught anything on a lure. They look pretty in a tackle box, but for me they are useless. Worms, grubs, minnows, and Ivory soap (for catfish) are what works around here.

You should look into the festival pier in Pawtucket Rhode island if you really like striper. I've seen some monstrous stripers, bluefish, and the rarest one that I've only heard of coming out of the river is sturgeon. Very good fishing spot.

In Minnesota you cannot set 3 rods for bait fishing. You can only use 1 rode. You can carry as many as you want but can only use 1. That’s why like lures better, more active and fun.

I live in ireland and here there aren't many fish that'll take a lure, pike, big freshwater perch and maybe a trout, fly fishing for trout is good here but 90% of the time I use worms or maggots as live bait, most reliable and you can catch big roach and bream
