I was in Cozumel in 86 and there was definitely more than 1 ship a week. The day we were there we were one of three ships and I know for a fact that at least one other from the same cruise line I was on called in Cozumel on a different day of the week than we did. Now the ships were a lot smaller and yes there were less of them but let's try not to make it sound like it was the Dark Ages or something.

Please refrain from lecturing me about the Dark Ages.

My first trip to Cozumel was in ‘82. We flew, stayed in Cancun for two days so we could day trip to Chichen Itza, (highly recommended) and took the ferry over. We were there five days and two cruise liners used a much smaller pier about a mile out from the center of town. I wondered why a cruise line would stop there, as an overnight would hardly be enough time to dive the incredible reefs Cozumel was renowned for. There really wasn’t much to do in town then. Some night life, not much, a few bars and restaurants. Dive shops outnumbered any other type of business. Things sure have changed.

You have no idea what happened to them to be late, I was recently on a cruise where I was the last person on board before they raised the ramp. We were driving back in a taxi on the autobahn in Germany, we had plenty of time to make it to port. Then a guy in front of us went to fast, misjudged a turn, his car exploded, and he died. That happened right in front of us, I was aware enough when I saw it happening I distracted my family. We had to wait on the side of the road until authorities came, got statements, and cleared the road. This delayed us to where we were 15 minutes past all aboard time. When I got back to the ship the cruise security director pulled me aside and gave me his "you need to be more responsible" talk. I looked him right in the eyes and said "I just saw a man lose his life today, I am terribly sorry I delayed you, but nothing you say to me right now is going to make me feel repentant." After that he stopped said "welcome back" , rest of the cruise proceeded normally.
@ryanm40132 жыл бұрын
When they are walking down the pier like nothing is wrong….nothing bad happened to them. In your situation, all you had to do was contact the cruise line and let them know what happened. That is common knowledge for anytime something happens while you are off the ship.
@pedrozatravel2 жыл бұрын
@@ryanm4013 an anonymous account willing to mock people, oh the irony. What did you do magnify the video and look at their faces? I bet if you did you would see some worry on it, but you don't care because it is easier just to mock them right? As for my case, if I could have called, would that have done me any good? Cruise ship wasn't waiting for me, I just got lucky something else happened, but you probably know more about that than I do.

@@johna5563 😆 Lol yes it was like a football game watching it. When we go we watch the clock like a hawk and stay near the ⚓ ship. We went on a carnival approved tour in Cabo San Lucas once our tour guide insisted on taking us by a gift shop (he probably gets a cut or something for bringing us there) finally it was getting close and we had to go back the ships captain was sounding the horn over and over because they do have to wait for us if it's a carnival tour... the tour guy wasn't concerned at all we were about 15 minutes late.
