This week's video sees us take on Pier To Pier 2023, a north east trail race organised by our club, Sunderland Strollers. This trail race from South Shields to Sunderland navigates tricky terrain, heading over sand, trail grass and (some) tarmac.

I was worried for you guys seeing the walk to the starting line. I thought the whole race was on sand. I figured your Achilles tendon would certainly flare up with that type of course. You all had fantastic times and it looks like the course was pretty scenic. Thanks for taking us along!

Another great video guys.. watching this still recovering from injury was that push I needed. Looked like an brutal race in hard conditions, I struggle in heat too 🥵. Hopefully see you guys at an parkrun soon 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Great video , how do you get to the start , as its a point to point race ,is they any transport laided on for runners?

Yeah there are buses that you can get from Roker to Shields on the day for £3, then you run back. There’s even a baggage bus for your bags! Thanks so much for watching - so glad you enjoyed it 😊
