@Ike N First off, there is no need to lower the one of this site by throwing accusations of "liar" towards people. It would have been as sufficient to state his passing. Secondly, excuse me for daring to make an error BUT I meant to say FRIENDS of Fleming have been quoted as saying that THEY believe Dalton came closest to what Fleming intended. Either way, you can make your point without resorting to insults you know?
@e-musickvance35815 жыл бұрын
FishOn2Wheels1 Yea you could argue that Dalton was what Ian Fleming envisioned in the books. But Ian never said Dalton or any other 007 actor was the best because he passed away like during production of Goldfinger. Dalton was Bond at the wrong time unfortunately.

I totally agree with your perception. In that respect he is or was the perfect image of James Bond. But my first Bond on screen was Roger Moore and I loved every bit of his performances. They were so witty. With Sean Connery I much preferred his later films. To me he is like good wine. The older he got, the better his play or presence on stage became.

There's some good foreshadowing past and present with this bit. The producers foreshadowed his story about The World Is Not Enough by actually using that movie's theme for his walk-out song, and his proud Celtic background would wrap right back around to his Black Adam interview where an equally proud Celtic guy tells Pierce he grew up around the same area as him, which melts his heart so fast, you'd swear that Icarus beam from Die Another Day just struck the studio.

mgkpraesi Oh yes, definitely Roger Moore. He is the longest-serving James Bond to date as he appeared in 7 official Bond movies in 12 years. It's funny really because when he became Bond, he was asked NOT to portray him like Simon Templar in The Saint, but that is exactly what he did. Timothy Dalton was great as well even though he only starred in 2. George Lazenby was the only one who I wasn't too keen on. I felt he was trying to be too much like Sean Connery.

"Are they paying you enough money?" Connery asked Pierce Brosnan while he was filming The World Is Not Enough. Connery was and is extremely resentful that the Bond producers Cubby Broccoli and Harry Saltzman made hundreds of millions of dollars from the Bond franchise and Connery was paid comparatively little for his participation in the first two films. During Goldfinger, his deal was renegotiated, however, he has been conspicuously absent from Bond 50th anniversary celebrations and the relationship was never really repaired. Naturally, Moore, Brosnan and Craig have fared considerably better financially from their association with the Bond movies.
@scottknode8984 жыл бұрын
By the time filming began on You Only Live Twice Connery’s professional relationship with Albert Broccoli and Harry Saltzman had deteriorated and when he did Diamonds Are Forever he only did it when was paid what he had agreed upon of $1.2 million which then said he would never play Bond again to his wife hence the title of Never Say Never Again in 83. Connery was offered to come back to play Bond in Live and Let Die in 1972 but he turned down $5 million to return and Roger Moore accepted the role after his tv show The Persuaders had ended and was free from his tv contract. Your right Moore, Brosnan and Craig each were paid considerably more then Connery was during their tenures as Bond. Moore himself made $1 million for his first appearance in Live and Let Die and when did A View To A Kill his salary was $5 million plus 5% of US gross which was more then Connery received in his films.

How great does Brosnan look at this AFI tribute? The Bond producers were complete schmucks for not signing Brosnan for at least one or two additional Bond films after Die Another Day. His movies revived the franchise and were making billions of dollars. They could have rebooted the series with Daniel Craig a couple of years later.

they could have at least make the everything or nothing movie we got as a game. had a pretty good roster of actors too

My understanding was Pierce didn't want to do any more anyway.

@Ron P if producers made a fifth movie with Brosnan in 2004, and the final, sixth one in 2006, I don't think that Brosnan looked too old at this time. This video is from 2007, and he still looked very good, like 10 years younger, than his real age. But definetely, he would be too old to play the part by 2010, or Skyfall, in 2012.

When I was eleven years old, Pierce Brosnan was James Bond and in the same way he describes Sean Connery there, he'll always be James Bond for me.

When Brosnan was playing Remington Steele, I saw James Bond character in himself, years later he played bond and it proved that my foresight was right.

That was very respectful of Pierce there’s not a feeling quite like having your hero praise your work from taking over a roll he once did
