Great video! Thanks for sharing! Also purchased mine 2nd hand from original owner who took very good care and it runs like a top! Now I know how to maintain and keep running for another 30 years like my Hondas!

Great video. I have changed seals and flushes before but never used a old seal to push down the new seal in place. That is a great idea that I will use in the future. Thanks!

Thanks for making this video. I have the same mower that I acquired from my grandfather and have been having lots of difficulty finding videos for this exact model. After putting fluid in it I noticed it has a leak and didn’t know how to go about fixing it. Then I randomly saw this video. Thanks again. I’ll give your channel a shout on mine when I do a video on this if you don’t mind

you're welcome! I'm glad you were able to find my video. These mowers were truly a fine piece of engineering and are indeed worth saving. Yes I would LOVE and APPRECIATE the shoutout! Many thanks and good luck with the fix!

Just in time for my mower repair! Is it OK to leave the transmission in place, and just siphon out the fluid and refill? At least the fluid gets refreshed to some extent.

I can't pull/pound/cajole/heat/lubricate or in any other way (short of drilling) get the axle friction pins (in front of the adjusters) out. Any ideas?

That transmission looks nothing like whats in my hr 194 unless mine is a first generation type or has someone fitted a 2 speed after my gearbox failed

Two speed is what is in the 214. My niece has one.
