First of all Groceries DO NOT HAVE HST so a major cost to Canadians is completely unaffected. Only 'snack' foods have HST bit I suppose when your monthly grocery bill is $8,000 you are enjoying a massive amount of specialty foods. And then the companies who sell thesr types of products are expected to absorb the cost of changing the tax codes for whatever is eventually covered by the bill for all of TWO MONTHS. They do, but Trudeau usually gives them enough of an answer to move on. In this case Poilievre just said we haven't seen the bill yet so idk and then commented on other shit. So the interviewer asked again to get some kind of a comment on what Poilievre is primarily here to talk about. The way Trudeau answers questions like this is, "idk we will have to wait for the bill, but we do (or don't) support the idea". It's a simple ad but it gets the interviewers the comments so they feel you answered the question and they get their headline etc. While for Poilievre it's less that they ask him again, but in interview approach it's more like your prompting the person to say more or add a final thought to what they were saying
