Aries Spears, among other comics wished Paul Mooney had done things differently, thinking he would have been more successful in Hollywood. I think Mr. Mooney's career turned out the way it was supposed to. He was a rebel. He wasn't going to change for Hollywood and Hollywood wasn't going to change for him. He would say things that would make you laugh and cringe at the same time. He was a comedic hit man, a verbal assassin. He could come at the King or Queen because he knew he wasn't going to miss. Comedians say they wanted to be like Paul Mooney. They would've never actually done it if they had the chance. Because they wanted to fit in someone else's world Not create one of their own.

Isn't he the one who claimed "Cleopatra was Black" when anyone who actually opened a book knows that she was Greek. See, it's ok to be full of animosity, but get facts straight otherwise it becomes embarrassing.
@DeShawnHatcher2 жыл бұрын
@@Valkonnen You know the one thing I learned, not from Paul, but from others is that 'BLACK" shows in many forms in Albanians, Italians, and yes Greeks. They may not want to admit it, you know call a spade a spade sort to speak but we do show up. You can be of Greek origin and have black ancestry. We know that blacks are the first, I mean ah it is in you, me, etc, and in generations and centuries it can pop up in a culture devoid of blacks. And Cleopatra could be Black, or mixed which is probably what she really was.
@Valkonnen2 жыл бұрын
@@DeShawnHatcher I guess you skipped this part of school...We have a "Science " called "Anthropology" and also DNA. Now we absolutely know the amount of Caucasoid, Negroid, or Mongoloid DNA that is in remains that we find. We absolutely know that Greek people have no Sub Saharan African (Black ) DNA in them They are Mediterranean Caucasian people and always have been . Within the Caucasian race there are three main types, Nordic (Blond haired blue eyed) . Alpine (Brown hair rounder faces), and Mediterranean (Dark Hair Olive complexion). Most white people that you see are a mutt mixture of these three and they find that in America, many white have some Indian DNA as well. So you can't just say that Greeks have black DNA because we know that they do not. It's like the fact that every single mummy that has been found has been Caucasian. I know that Mooney wanted to rewrite history, but science tells the truth without "Opinion". After my first year of Anthropology, I could tell what race a skull is , sitting on a desk from 20 feet away. A Chinese, African , and French skull look completely different and you can tell at a glance what race they are . Study a little science and you'll be wiser for it
@DeShawnHatcher2 жыл бұрын
@@Valkonnen I understand what you're saying but we honestly do not know for sure. Unless they did an actual DNA test on her remains and I haven't ever read about one. Clearly, there was no DNA test back then, and reading skulls may not be the most scientific way of deducing the origin and ethnicity of a person. If you have heard of a DNA test, I'd really love to see it, and love to know for sure because we really don't. What about the Moors invading Italy? Blacks/Africans traveled like everyone else, we cannot say emphatically that we know all of who she is, is my point. Any peace to you
@Valkonnen2 жыл бұрын
@@DeShawnHatcher You need to learn basic stuff! No of course there was no DNA back then, but we test Mummies Now , when we find them. DNA test on all areas of Italy show no Sub Saharan African (Black People) blood in them because if you opened a book or even looked online , you'd know that The Moors were a mix of Middle Eastern Arabs, North Africans, Muslim Europeans . We absolutely KNOW who Cleopatra was and what she was . Have you ever seen a sculpture of her or Nefertiti? People are so unknowledgeable about even basic stuff. Here you can see pictures drawn of Moors which show what they look like en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moors and you can look up sculptures of Cleopatra who looked like typical greek girl and Nefertiti who looked like a typical North African Egyptian girl .

@@missshannon9790 He wasn’t Gay. He was married and has twin sons. He might have been Bi. But so what? Richard Pryor was Bi. Quincy Jones talked about Richard Pryor and Marlon Brando having sex. Richard Pryor’s former wife confirmed it. Richard Pryor talked about s*cking d*ck onstage.
@missshannon9790 Жыл бұрын
@@katrinaolsen2444 I'm not sure what your point is. Gay, bi....ITS THE SAME SHIT - males effing males. Nasty. MY point was there are certain black male celebrities who have always been side eyed for being gay (I use gay and bi interchangeably.) I never hear anybody say anything about this dude.
@katrinaolsen2444 Жыл бұрын
You were going on about GAY he was. Flaming even. He was married to a woman and had children. If you can rise to the occasion and have sex with a woman; you AREN’T Gay. You’re Bi. Or Pansexual or whatever terms “the kids” are using these days. And so WHAT if he was Bi? If his wife was cool with it, what is it your business to judge? He didn’t get AIDS; so he must have been pretty careful if he was sleeping with men.

This was a VERY heartfelt tribute to Mr. Mooney. I had NO IDEA there was a connection between the two. Mr. Mooney was just as good as all the great stand ups in the 70s and 80s. However, Mr. Mooney had no desire to cater to the mainstream just to be a household name. That alone is a testament to his convictions and his talent.
