I never sang the australian national anthem when I was going to school I was the only indigenous person there, My mother told me when I was a kid You can sing the song if you want to, but you don't have to if you don't want to,, There was a lot of people in the school who didn't like it Including the teachers but I didn't care! , Because australian national anthem doesn't represent the Indigenous people! of australia , That's why we got 3 different flags in australia for each race

All countries teach their history in a nationalist way. How is this controversial? People confuse the government and the country. The loyalty is to the country. Symbols like the flag and anthem are weaponized heavily by governments. Unity is not always a good thing. Unity around what? Andrew Rosindell actually thought he caught Ash Sarkar in a gotcha moment when she implied she isn't in love with the institution of monarchy in Britain. And he has the gall to scoff at her? In 2023! You are allowed to, if you want to sing it at break time as an individual then nothing stops you, but we don’t go out of our way to do it all together, we think education is more important than singing the national anthem (which really isn’t that good of a song) and we aren’t interrupting the lessons just for that reason, nor are we cutting break times short for that reason either.
