I don’t like the pretence that because I studied one discipline, I feel people should consider me a fountain of knowledge on EVERYTHING, which is what a lot of academics do. There are people who have never attended University who are far more intelligent than I am when it comes to such matters as societal issues, politics, etc. I didn’t complete my PhD for clout, or to use it as a platform to pontificate to others my superiority in intellectual matters when I am fully aware of my own limitations & the gaps in my general knowledge.
