@chloewright1
@chloewright1 Ай бұрын
Let's be fair - he was reading his body language from the first second he walked into the room with the guy. I think he only resorted to telling him that because he'd already tried every angle but wasn't getting anything from him. I think he decided to confront him straight on and tell him exactly what he saw and what he thinks, just to see how the guy reacted to this type of questioning.

Man I'm 65. I've known some messed up people in my life. I'd like to sit and tell you all the stories. But what I can tell you I met them through life. One was a friend from the neighborhood another as a friend from school not from my hood. Others were people I met through work. I had no idea. I hung with them. I ate with them. I drank with them and I enjoyed their friendship. Two spoke with me about their charges and denied everything. What was I to believe I had no experience dealing with what they were saying. All I can say is it's true that they live amongst us. And that's a fact.

Wow. Not gonna be a popular opinion because I too think the guy is very likely guilty but Piers most certainly did NOT go in there to let the guy tell his side of the story. He did his infamous interrupting and then acting like he's been totally fair with his time. I WANTED to hear what this guy had to say about the crimes and he didn't even let him finish. Cops DO get it wrong. Juries DO get it wrong. Eye witness testimonies have sometimes ended up totally OFF. 90% I think this guy did it but this interview was a sham and not at all fair. If Piers is gonna use body language as a reason to decide someone's guilt or innocence he better realize that MANY people including innocent people would hold their arms like that in a defensive or self protective manner when being questioned like this.

This killer totally manipulated and took charge of that whole interview. Piers did not hold his own. He got shut down and the interview was terminated by the one actually in charge. Good thing the jury could see through that creep.

He is absolutely giving automated responses. The tip off is immediate, when he repeats the question is he capable of hurting a child, he needed the time to generate the correct answer.

It was a poor act to express his innocence, at best, and Mr. Henriquez knew it. You can see the look of disappointment on his face at the end, running through his performance in his mind and knowing it didn't resonate. What an animal.

Yup. This one I think could be innocent. If the evidence wasn't thrown away, let's do DNA tests. Wanna' bet that stuff was tossed? Once DNA testing was common, I'll get the detectives "lost" it.

Why is pier emotional? Allow the man to also speak and tell us why he thinks he is innocent maybe we can see through him some more.

The problem is every time he buts in to give his evidence that he is innocent he either goes on a rant about how no one ever lets him give his evidence, or he goes off on another tangent deflecting from the question/ issues being discussed. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. He had a whole trial that was about evidence & his rebuttals/ 'evidence'/excuses

@@user-rn4jy5qe1s He interrupted him constantly. The guy asked at the end if he could explain and Piers said the interview was over. I like Piers but this was terribly biased and not a truly journalistic interview.

@@DarlaAnne I agree that Piers seems to cut him off a lot, but I also suspect that the show is heavily edited because Henriquez says very little of substance & rants/ rambles/ deflects constantly. It is also about control. Henriquez is trying to control the situation with protestations of innocence, corruption, everybody else is lying etc, classic control technique of narcissists/ sociopaths. Piers is trying to take control from him by shutting him down. It doesn't make for the best tv, but all the arguments & evidence of a 6 week trial won't fit into a 50 minute show that includes discussions with other people. I think the program mainly focuses on revealing his arrogant non-empathetic narcissistic personality & delusions, & highlights some particular lies & gaslighting.
@DarlaAnne
@DarlaAnne 3 ай бұрын
@@user-rn4jy5qe1s I understand that. I started out watching this very much not liking the guy but it was still a fail on the part of Piers to not let him finish his sentences for whatever parts were kept in the interview. It left a lot of us wondering and kinda backfired as now I'm seeing quite a few comments wondering about his guilt. This guy can be a total narcissist and yet not be guilty of the crimes. There's no physical evidence, only circumstantial which is pretty insane for a death penalty conviction. I really wanted to hear what he had to say. This was definitely a "get him" interview than anything exploring all of the aspects of the case.
