The fact that he thinks Palestinians are like algerians and Israelis like France is one of the core issues. Israel is not a colonial power. There's no "mother" state behind it. Most Israelis are descendants of refugees. They don't plunder resources, had a historical presence in the land, are part of a national movement and have religious connection as well. Unlike France in Algeria they have nowhere else to go.

Not literally a colonial power, but Israel was a project by what were technically Occidental colonialists, even if they were Jewish. Even the original founders (i. e. Ben-Gurion) called it as such. Immigrants to Israel didn't necessarily have as much ancestral DNA as the expelled residents of the region.
