Am I seeing correctly that besides the idle mixture knob, you don’t have mixture control? If so, why is that?

Hello David! Good catch. The A-65 engines typically have the mixture control arm wired full-rich all the time. The reason for that is that the engine runs just fine there all the time since most of these engines power Cubs, Champs, etc. and don't climb high enough to have to lean the mixture. Also many of these Stromberg carbs have the mixture control capped off---there isn't even an adjustment arm. Just full rich all the time. Some do have mixture control cables but only in high/mountainous areas usually.
