I'm no chemist or drug baron but I smell bullshit here too. I know enough to know that... 1.Base doesn't readily dissolve. 2. It would still require some sort of chemical catalyst (the way hydrochloride/powder/salt form coke requires baking soda or ammonia) to facilitate the chemical change / separate it from the rum.

You can tell the the interviewer is telling a story that somebody told him about how they used to get crack and rum bottles. Especially when the guys asking them the breakdown of how they got it from the paste back to crack form he doesn’t know the real breakdown or the details of how to bring it back. I agree. @Skunkhunt_4211 ай бұрын
Not the main reason. Supply chain changes, cultivar changes, and new cuts/adultrants. Big change is past 10-15yrs coke is being adultrated with chems like levamisol before import to the usa. Prior to that, it was in the best intrests of the mfg's to ship as pure as possible. Even in the best uncut coke there are other minor alkaloids present that can be specific to the cultivar it was processed from. However supply chains these days make it such that crude coke from the plantations is all lumped together in the city to be purified and pressed into bricks. In the 80s it was not like this to the same degree.

I remember the stuff from even 20 years ago was waaaaaaay better than you get today. It was heavy with the dentist numbing agent, but you'd hit a couple one on ones & would need a water to be able to swallow & would be geeked for helllllla long. It was dummy cheap, too. But these days its expensive as f×ck & I seen people who, compareatively, wouldn't have needed much back then, hoovering down shit last I saw the stuff. One person needing a 3 for one night type stuff. I cant do it anymore tho. Made my brain break.

Truth, I've quit everything now but I'd wager I haven't done a good line of proper gear in a decade or so - and I've done PLENTY 😛
