Your barns, barnyards and piles are always neat and tidy. I love seeing that. You’re obviously on top of that, I know you must be busy with other things

Happy Birthday Ian. Hope it's a great day. I was wondering why the pile was in the yard and not in a bunk ? You've got many different piles spread around the farm. You're gonna pile corn silage there later on. Now I get it. it is interesting how in different areas, farms are either doing very well, or are under water from excessive rain in the last couple of weeks. You've got sunny weather and blue skies and good silage right now, that's a good sign.

When you take a feed test to see the quality of the alfalfa do you sample it right away or let it ferment and sample closer to feeding time?
@pietvanbedaf-nddairyfarmer9047

I'll take fresh samples when we're harvesting and our nutritionist will pull a sample again when we start feeding it.

I toured one of their 10,000 cow farms a few years ago and thought it looked well run and clean. I don't have any personal experience with them, but 25,000 cows under one roof on one location seems like a lot to me.

been a pretty nice growing season so far up in here in Manitoba. I'm not sure exactly where in North Dakota you are but compared to last year it doesn't even same we are living in the same hemisphere. Don't want to jinx it but maybe the drought is finally over for the long term. I know my cattle can't even come close to keeping up to the grazing rotation I need four times the cattle.

It's definitely been a little strange getting rain every 3 or 4 days. That doesn't happen here very consistently, I'm sure it won't stay like this all summer.

Sure nice seeing some equipment on your farm that has the right colour green paint! LOL!! 😂 Another awesome video Piet! I love seeing everything is so neat and tidy! That’s the same way I grow up on the farm as well. My Dad was very fussy!! We milked 8 cows by hand and shipped the cream to the local creamery. They would come and pick it up from the farm in this 5-8 gallon metal cream jugs.
