So we played against a Pig doing the infamous "AFK strat" that involves bodyblocking one of the four boxes that Survivors need to get their reverse beartraps off. But something went wrong for our poor hero...

@@dam9743 You only need one box to get your trap off but it'll be random, so you just gotta try boxes until you find the one that is "yours". So if she happens to be blocking the box you need then you're in trouble. The timer for your trap starts counting down once a gen completes.

But AFK builds can be a bit of a problem so I think maybe some type of penalty should be put in if either side AFKs anywhere for over 2 minutes and the issue would be solved. @@KarenFromWalmart Agreed. This is a strat like any other. It's a high risk high reward strat because doing this doesn't guarantee one kill, let alone 3 or 4. It's more of a meme than anything else, and seeing how unrewarding it should be most of the time, I doubt they're doing it to annoy survivors. People are very hypocritical anyway. I remember watching Otz live, and there were those survivors obviously memeing and not caring about the game. They were not even touching any gens, they were just being dumbasses but you could tell it was on purpose, not them just sucking. But so many people on Otz's chat were making fun of them, going all "Wtf are they even doing ?!", calling them idiots or mocking how they played... Yet the same people will get super salty and annoyed when survivors are trying hard to survive like their lives depend on it. If the survivor tries hard = insult them, if they're memeing and being dumbasses = insult them. There's no winning. Also to me a much more "toxic" way of playing for Pigs is when they harass someone with a trap, making them unable to remove it. They'll follow them around to prevent them from doing any boxes, but they'll make sure to also not trigger chase so the timer keeps ticking. And as a survivor there's nothing much you can do except maybe run into the killer. It is funny though to run after a killer who's running away from you :P

@@ayoubp7689 the trap activated when a gen is complete. 99% gen to pressure the gen but also to deny the trap to activate. Like otz said, this pig playstyle is distasteful, blocking the unlock trap box to force a survivor died to trap if someone pop a gen early. So the strat that Otz is to 99% at least 5 gen to deny the last trap being activate. if you watch the video, when the other survivor are working together, they can be in position to help the unlucky survivor with the trap by pop 5 gen as quickly as possible, open the gate and the three other escape asap, so the unlucky one can try to escape with hatch.

Actually faced this just yesterday… all solo randoms as far as I could tell, on the game map no less, but we managed to 99 all 5 gens and organize enough to pop them all at once. One person still had their trap on when we did so, but managed to get it off once they could see where all of the boxes were. Unfortunately somebody got hooked and camped (way to make a scummy strat even scummier) and we couldn’t find the NOED totem in time, so only a 3 man escape :(

I’ve faced this a few times and one of the times, we all had the last key trap that the piggy just so happened to be camping. So we all just screwed around and maxed out our bp in the ones that we could max out(minus altruism because the bitch didn’t hit or hook any of us and the one that has boldness in it because the piggy was crouched, so we couldn’t enter chase). Then we just ran around for 1 hour and 37 minutes until the piggy DC’ed. They wrote in chat; “Typical SWF holding the game hostage.” I wrote back; “Typical video tape bot piggy holding the game hostage and then DCing when you realized we weren’t going to pop any gen and were here solely to waste your time, add-ons and to prevent you from doing this to other people for as long as you stay. No wonder you’re still Ash 4 lol.”

Iirc, completing a box gives an RNG chance of getting the trap off depending on how many other traps/boxes are done, increasing in probability as there are less boxes to search. Once a trap is taken off, that box wont give a key for another trap

Fun fact about the Iridescent Tape, it actually doesn't guarantee all 4 survivors start with a trap on their head, it simply applies all the tapes you have available onto survivor's heads, up to 4. If you also bring Amanda's Letter, only 2 survivors will have traps on their head

We had game like this on RPD and all of our bear traps were attached to the same box. The same box was blocked by the pig the entire game. We did all the totem, 99% all the gens and by the way we were a complete solo queue team and just did all of this knowing what was going on. I've faced this and my team and I absolutely dissected the person trying it. They were a streamer too so it was great to watch their crybaby reaction. I watched their vod and they even started stream sniping the streamer I was playing with at one point in the match. "These guys are so boring, killers can't meme 😢", as he sat there eating, stream sniping, and not moving the entire game 😂 Genuinely embarrassing human, a father in his 30's btw, yikes. I had just watched Yerv's video on it the day before so I knew exactly what they were doing. A couple things you didn't mention besides 99'ing gens is doing all the totems to prevent the inevitable noed and having 1 person (or even 2 if the pig is smart enough to know that everyone can get out if only 1 person needs the box they're blocking) not search boxes until the gens and totems are ready so that the pig stays "afk" in hopes they'll still get a head pop, since that's all the cringe lords doing it really want 😂 always good to see people getting what they deserve

I think the correct wording here is treating Pub matches as heavily competitive. Comp DBD is a thing, and stuff like what that Pig was doing doesn't happen there. NOED also has more consistent chances of getting counterplayed, so...

Hatch offerings are very inconsistent. Pop one for shack hatch and you might get Haddonfield (pretty sure I butchered that), pop a main building offering and you get the Saw map

I literally sat for like 40 minutes looking at the pig and with my team as we had 99 all the gens,and then we baited her out and we got our traps removed (we had 2 people with traps on their heads) and we had 2 people escape

I played DBD for the first time tonight after a month break. My third game back and we had a pig do this, except they weren't even afk. We were a swf on comms and I explained to the others what was happening and how to play around it as they were blocking the correct box for 1 of us. We 99ed the 5 gens then split up and popped them all in a few seconds. Three of us left asap to make the hatch spawn and as soon as we did, the pig moves and finds the person with the trap on their head to 1hit down them with noed before they can find the hatch. They left them to bleed out the entire way. SBMM says the pig deserved that kill so it was skill. SBMM also says that survivor in the best case scenario would neither gain nor lose mmr but even that didn't happen. What a great design :)

the key should always be in the 3rd box by default, that way it'd be a win-win: the traps don't come off on the first search, and the pig can't camp the boxes. it should scale up depending on how many boxes there are to be 1 less than that amount so the addons don't make it easier.

Had a match similar to this where the pig had the add on where there are only two things to get the trap off of your head. I got the trap put on my head close to late game, and what she did was watch me and follow me around, blocking the box before I got to it. Was the most aggravating and hilarious game I've ever had as Steve. My teammates tried to block her towards the end, but if I got to it she would just down me and leave me on the ground to be healed. Get healed only to have the box blocked once again.

Last pig I faced ran the iri tape + rule set 2, got angry because I burned a sacrificial ward and they burned a midwich offering so all 5 gens magically finished themselves and all our heads exploded at once. Amazing gameplay 10 out of 10 pretty good job so far.

A really cool way to patch this is having the jigsaw puppet say something like: unfair amanda! And block the box, if a survivor needs that box it will instantly break the trap and if not then he will just need to try other boxes

@@shadowcross4813 that's not really true at all, as AFK pig is literally refusing to participate in normal gameplay. Idling/refusing to participate in normal gameplay is even listed by one of BHVR's reportable offenses. On that same note, facrcamping is not. Most likely because the facecamper has to at least actively prevent hooks. An AFK pig does not, as the RNG of the boxes can either force a survivor to die for no real reason or the game to be held hostage by the pig.
