thank you for being kind to them, pigeons are my favorite pets and Amazing creatures... I love the sounds and the wing flaps of babies... miss it when mine was tiny

The young ones just starting to fly are very cute. They have that innocent look. Their beak is very bumpy and not quite hardened yet, with pink nostrils. Their tail feathers aren't grown yet and they have long strands of baby-down still on their body.

I'm feeding broken rice to the pigeons on my windowsill in Paris. One of them took a liking to me and came to sit on my arm and the love story is progressing at a good pace, Bird flies directly from the sky to my shoulder, head or back, I close the window & give him small green lentils and split peas, he loves both. Now he wants to rest on my hand while I wave my arm slowly to give him a thrill. He does the same thing only two or 3 times then he changes i.e. where he lands on my body, where he flies onto in the kitchen, from which part of my body he will fly off. He changes these frequently.

+rcnrao I would like see a video of your bird so close to you and understands you. Why can't you make a video in action and upload it to youtube?. I love to have that closeness with birds, but it never comes near me, I feel disappointed very much. Birds should come on its own. ...!
@FilK798 жыл бұрын
rcnrao birds are generally very cautious and untthrusty, troughout history people tricked them to hunt and eat them. Despite that, pigeons can get very friendly you just need to stay calm and offer them food. Dont make fast moviments or be anxious. If they notece you are calm and peacefull there is a greater chance they will come to you.
@Khamomil8 жыл бұрын
rcnrao I don't make videos. I was feeding pigeons from my kitchen window regularly. One day I put lentils in a small oval dish and handed it to the birds standing on the railing. Those in front had easy access but not those on the sides. Then one hungry bird saw that if he stood on my hand he could get at the lentils without competition so he did, and that's how he became used to being in physical contact with me. If I kept the window open other birds would fly in and interrupt him, but if I closed it he could eat undisturbed. So now he flies in, I close the window, he eats and I open and he flies out. He remains wild. He keeps me from petting him by pecking me with his beak or slapping me with his wing if I try to touch him. But I can kiss him from the side. He's less afraid of my face than of my hands.

Your video is truly amazing! I just love what you did with this pigeon family! Let them nest on your balcony, give them food and water, that's very kind of you! And been able to see the family in their private moments and see the babies grow, that's awesome! Thanks for posting this! ❤❤❤

any of you guys who have pigeons from the wild make residence at your home should know that they carry many bugs.. you could spray the bird with bronco a spray sold at horse stores and this will eliminate the bugs. spray it under the wings and the tail never near their face.

PIGEONS DESPERATELY NEED HELP !! 90% of pigeons in cities die in their first year of their lifes. The others don't live longer than 2-3 years. In nature, they can live up to 12-15 years ! They have nothing to eat, they are forced to eat trash and they freeze to death. Pigeons can NOT live naturally in cities. They are only here because of breeders !!
