Growth of baby pigeons | From hatching to 4 weeks old

One fine morning when checking out my balcony (which you can guess, we seldom use), I found a nest and 2 eggs!
I had no idea when the pigeons figured the balcony could be put to better use than the people who rent it.
Anyways, I thought it would be a good idea to let them be and maybe film the progress. So over the next 35 days, I filmed for a min or two everyday.
I can say the squabs were friendlier when they were tiny, as they grew up, they were not as friendly as before. They do grow up fast.

I have a sleeping baby pigeon next to me right now that was injured and it’s being collected so it will be safe. I named it Marlo ❤️

Around 2 weeks ago they made a nest in my dad's flower pot and day by day the female got used to us and stopped moving no matter how close we got. This morning they hatched. Despite missing the whole thing, we will keep observing and continue feeding the female (the male is probably close by but he doesn't really come).

Question, did the babies or parents ever try to come back? I am dealing with this right now and I think the babies are almost ready to go. I would like to try to not have any of them return.

@@melgo09 after the babies learn to fly on their own make sure you destroy/ cleanup the nest to discourage them from coming back or laying eggs again.

I found baby pegion on road, which was thrown down by crow in front me. It got hurt very bad. I brought it home and now safe. I want to send it back to its parents. 10 day baby. How is it possible any idea? There are many nests around my block.

I don’t think pigeons can be good foster parents. But you can try leaving it in their nest. Most pigeons never leave their nest if they have laid eggs. While I am not a bird specialist in any way, you can Google out what is best solution. I am sure someone else might have also faced similar situation.

Just let them be. They can take care of themselves. Once the squabs are grown and learn to fly clean up everything otherwise they will come again to nest.
