Yup, except now we’re supposed to accept that a “transwoman is a woman” and if this show was made today they’d all get cancelled.

Except now they use the women's bathrooms instead of the correct bathrooms, and demand everyone else enable their lies and self deception.

This used to be comedy now it's reality, men in dresses insisting they are women. This wouldn't even be shown today which is incredibly sad, we are not allowed to laugh at anything anymore.

This show is brilliant ! Too bad it isn't in anymore. I keep reading in the comments about how this was offensive, how ? These skits were around in the USA back in the 80's and still today on shows like Mad TV, SNL and In Living Color.

it was not regarded as offensive then.. but now if anyone was to post this on Twitter in UK - they could not be sure if police might kick the door down the next day..

It's offensive mostly because it mocks trans people; and it is doing it without any sincere or sympathetic portrayal reflecting their real identities, strengths, or struggles, as a very real group of people who have lives mostly like our own. The skits' interpretation of trans women here isn't even to a surface level - it's entirely imaginary, and that imagined persona is exaggerated to be absurd and grotesque. That's not that funny on its own or why the skit is written around a trans woman - so what's the funny part? That someone born or raised a man identifies as a woman? There's people that actually do, and they're nothing like in the skit. Is it that someone acts as absurd as the caricature in the skit? No trans woman I actually know does. So I did laugh the first time I saw these, within the full runtime of the episodes they were a part of, but I've had a change of mind since that time, when I was much younger... I don't think I could have a laugh over this sitting next to a trans or non-binary friend of mine. This particular skit just wouldn't seem funny to me anymore. It is instead like a minstrel show; the humor in it is hollow if it exists at all, and it's based on accepting the derisive stereotype about the subject's identity first - and knowing what I know now, and having met people and built the real life relationships I have now, I don't.

@@icl4ntic nature of adult humour is that it mocks each and every demographic and every human foible without exception.. apart from those instances where there is nothing to ridicule - but not not at all sure what those might be ??
