Speaking as someone who probably has more pens than they should have, the title of this video is very serious...

Of course, I'm a UniBall Signo/Pentel EnerGel kinda person, except in my bible, where I mainly use really sharp pencil, but also a bunch of weirdo colored pens. And washi tape, so you may even want to kick me off your channel...

@@KatesFree I like the Pentel EnerGel, but I have issues with the Signo's I have used. I like them, but I find that they start to skip and not produce ink before I can use the entire supply. For whatever reason I hit a point where I can write or scribble and nothing comes out.
@ciannacoleman51253 жыл бұрын
Lol, anytime you read a title like that for favorite supplies it is serious. I haven’t heard of those other pens but absolutely love using a 005-01 in my bible, along with an old set of 11 (originally 12) Derwent watercolor pencils that I don’t like activating as highlighters.

No matter how good they are at it, resist the urge to get the stuff out from deep underneath your nail beds. I guess that’s just me. One second of satisfaction, a few bucks down the drain *sigh*

Jason I am one of those weirdo pen people and Micron has a solution. They came out with a 8 pack of colored pens in the .05 size i believe you need the Pigma PN pens [plastic nibs] which prevents the frazzle as i tend to call it when the points are worn down. Now I had to order mine from a wee tiny office supply place in grapevine TX. I hope this helps you out. and you're welcome [as the angels sing on high]

I've always had the same issues with Pigma Microns fraying a bit if I write too hard or am not gentle with them. I don't want pens I have to be gentle with.
@ciannacoleman51253 жыл бұрын
I suspect you have a heavier hand, I have a classmate who breaks almost every fine liner she uses due to that. I have a lighter hand and have been using a 01 in my bible for the last year with no sign of drying/emptying or fraying.

I've never tried the P500s. I'm using the Pilot Frixion Gel Ink Pens (fine point), and they are OH SO FINE!!!!! I'll give the P500s a try soon.

Pilot Frixion Knockballs have awesome colors AND erase. Blue black has been my favorite ink lately.

I am crazy when it comes to pens. I have different pens for different situations. For my Bible I use the Pigma Micron 01 for underlining and the 005 for writing in the margins. And I have found this pen the Pilot G-Tec-C4 (not archival ink but ultra fine roller ball) which comes close to the Pigma Micron 005. ( That’s my opinion.) Now after this video, thanks to you, I will have to try the Pilot P-500 .

Interesting because I just bought my first Pigma Micron 005 and for the one week I have had it it won't write if I have a certain angle on it. So not loving it. I thought maybe I got a defective one, but will try the Pilot P 500...thx

It happened to me on 01 but I bought 3 of them so both were great but the one that didnt work I threw it away

Great content! Just wondering if you've tried Pilot G-Tec-C4 or C3... even more precise than the P500 and same rolling ball :) God bless!

The Pilot Hi-Tec-C is great for margins--probably not so great for working inside the text though.

I use Micron but I'm working on picking up the Copic SP liners. They're just too expensive to get more than one or two at a time. They are the best I've used. I thought Microns were the best. They are not. The best part of the Copic SPs is that you don't have to have more than one of them. If a nib gets damaged, get a new nib. If the ink runs out, buy the ink replacements. They aren't more than getting all new pens. And, they feel better in the hand and, in my opinion, they draw lines more smoothly. I got a 10 and a 12 in a set of Microns from the art store in my area. And for the life of me, I can't find more. Which sucks because they are awesome for thickening lines for graffiti pieces or even adding depth. Anyway, I would love to fine them. I have 1s from the Micron Graphic series... But I can't find the .10 of the .12.

I live your videos and in one video you said to watch all your videos and I was like 'already did that' you are funny, you make interesting videos and useful as well, I love your bible reviews or anything related to the bible and I think you are really underrated and I think that at some point you'll blow up so remember us, your first faithful subscribers. Sorry if my grammar isn't correct, but I am from Italy.

Has anyone used the uniball signo rt1 0.28? It is archival ink too. The micron 005 lasted me 1 month and the 01 lasted me 2 months. The nib do not last me.

Hi Jason, I was wondering if you have any recommendations for bible pens and highlighters. I had a bad experience with the Zebra mildliners and pilot frixion smear my bible ink
@barblothe33663 жыл бұрын
Bought a box from Amazon a few months ago and each pen I've used has stopped working after only 1 or 2 days of use. So the Pigma Microns win! But if they continued working, great pen. Just coat the grip. The plastic is slippery.
@Airel174 жыл бұрын
Micron has come out with a new pen that has a plastic reinforced nib and it writes like a rollerball. It’s micron PN for plastic nib.
@thundersky74573 жыл бұрын
I completely killed that tip. The tip smashes until none sticks out. I think the plastic tip is mostly comfortable, doesn't help the tip not smash down.

I've seen videos that says regular...ink...pens the ink absorbs eventually into the paper but the pigma ink doesnt. What do you think?
@bluestripetiger5 жыл бұрын
thank you so much for this video. Could you please do one testing out the pigma micron PN pens? The pn stands for "plastic nub" so it doesnt frizz away like the fabric/felt nubs.

Anyone know how to fix microns after they've inked acrylics? I know the acrylic have dried but when I use microns it always stops working after. And I just got them, so I know their full of ink, anyone know how to fix it?

If you want to try to prolong the nib life on the microns and cant stop yourself from having a heavy hand, try at least altering your grip. Let your pinky knuckle and side of your hand bear the weight while writing leaving your palm more perpendicular to the page. It suspends the forefinger, thumb and middle finger while your ring finger and pinky are the foundation. You wont have to move your elbow and shoulder so much and the weight of your arm wont be skating on the page with the nib.

Thanks for this, Jason. I constantly kill my Microns the same way and it's painful to keep throwing them out. I'll add those Pilots to my Wishlist! I confess, I'm a total Pen-aholic. Any excuse to buy more pens and I'm ready!

Have you ever tried an India ink pen in your bible? Something like a Faber-Castell Pitt pen, I guess. I'm just curious whether India ink seeps through. It's USUALLY (and I say that carefully) pretty good about not bleeding through. If you haven't tried India ink in the bible.... well maybe you have a video idea? Haha. Thanks Jason. Love your vids, man.

Pigma microns are for inking drawings that's why they die so fast when writing alot
@Layer19884 жыл бұрын
I think the same, people just buy pens without searching for what they're made for... and then they just make a bad review.
