It's not a quick project to create the outside pigpen so I'm getting what I can get done when I have time outside of work and typical maintenance. There seems to always be a big project that comes up that takes most of my time early in the season but it'll be so nice to get the pigs outside in mud.

Love seeing how everyone is growing and doing! I'm loving the variation in color on all the babies. Everything from chocolates, to tans, to reds! Crossing my fingers that most of them are females and can stay on the homestead. The pig pen is coming along nicely! Keep up the great work. Can't wait to see the next installment.

You need to get some of those lightweight fabric shade screens overhead...like the ones they use in nursery's to protect the plants from the direct sun.

Hey, 2 things about the black ducking; black ducklings seem to need higher protein while growing, and also, Dabbles stepped on him in a big way, right when he got put in the outside bird box. (Obviously, it’s on your video if you want to check it out. It’s why my first name for Dabbles was Bigfoot, but I like yours better because it’s a happy name. You’re doing such a great job, Cody.

This is so interesting about the ducks in the niacin deficiency. I have never known this to happen? I wonder if some thing isn’t going on with the duck feed? Remember when everybody was complaining that their chickens weren’t laying eggs with the tractor supply food something like that.

Loving all the new life on the homestead! More to fill the longer videos. Lil Roe is being such a good momma💕double duty may just want to bake/hatch them but not have motherly instincts but lil roe/sedgwig will raise them. Sedgwigs got her hands full. Idea for the goats in the summer run- you could use one of those metal poles to attach fencing, put a bolt on the bottom &screw/cement a plate into the ground where you can just screw it in/out when you need it open/closed but itll give more stability so the goats can’t break through it. Similar to a furniture leg mounting plate but they have stronger ones called steel threaded crank plate. And quick to throw together. Just an idea! If you want them to go eat up some of the summer run.

Little shaky legs. 🥺 I hope the supplemental niacin and the brewer's yeast in their feed helps. Pants chicks are getting so big, I am just dying to know how many are male and how many are female. After all the time Mrs. Muffins and Dot have been broody it's unfortunate to see they are having issues with the actual chicks. The outdoor pig pen is looking great! Though it is going to be a big project having to move the barn door to the other side. Progress is progress, great job Cody, as with everything you do. Now just to figure out what the heck to do with so many Mama hens. 😂🥴😵‍💫

I spent a lot of time hustling feed. We had a popcorn place & every so often they would have "test pop". Id fill my van full of trashbags of popped corn, then i had local bakeries & sub shops who would call when stuff was under or over baked, i auctioned & got large bags chips for a nickel or less each (best way to lead escapees back). Poultry, pigs & goats loved my treats (my kids ate some too, lol)

If pigs start to dig out under the lower boards,would it help to insert stakes in the ground ever so often to prevent them from escaping.You could possibly do this from the outer side of the walls!❤the way you care so for your animals!!

I hope you extend the outer walls into the ground. Pigs will dig out. Pigs don't sweat, which why they like wet mud. A fan that mist might help.

About pig pen construction; I used to try to find the weakest point in my construction like there was money in it! Actually, it was because I knew if I didn’t find it, the pigs would be happy to help me with that! Lol.
