When i was very young about 1984 or so my dad took a job for Sam Walton in Texas (our families are from the same town in Arkansas). We drove into College Station with our Hogs stickers and t-shirts and were not welcomed. We only lived there for a month and a half. My brother got beat up a lot while we lived there but that could have been because he usually deserved it. Also i love me some Sam Pittman, salt of the earth that guy. Go University of Damn Arkansas!

He followed it up with the rivalry and even playing Rice . Texas is big. If we play well in that game it could be a real fun year. This year is setting up like 98 . New underrated team . Seniors galore and motivation to be respected in the SEC West/Nation. Play hard and let them chips fall. WPS

@@duskdaddy There is a benefit to being the underdog; no one expects too much, which allows you to play with less weight on your shoulders. You add a coaching staff that really believes in you and by extension the program, you've got a great recipe for big surprises and upsets. Then you begin to reestablish a winning culture, which honestly counts for more than even recruiting or coaching.

Pit boss brings alot of swagger back to the program. He believes we can be a top tier program, so the kids WILL buy in. He's new as a head coach, but he's smart enough to build, in my opinion, an assistant coaching pool in the top 10. We will be relevant again.

Exactly. No one gets a literal trophy after a Missouri vs. Arkansas game. We may have been absentee last few years, but LSU is definitely our rival. Ask any real Hog fan and they'll tell you the hatred they feel for LSU is deep and visceral, and most LSU fans still feel the same about Arkansas.

I talked to a couple of college recuriters who told me that to impress a prospcet you YOURSELF have to be famous and a name they know beside the head coach. Kids want a chance to play and then if they're good, a chance to be a star bright enough to making serious money at it, just like a musician and an actor. Simple as that. Remember Elway's Ploy?
