Absolutely beautiful! 😇😊😌 Why is it that Pikasonic's tracks work so well on the piano? It's a wonderful mystery to me. Although, some things do not translate perfectly. In places like between the timestamps, 0:41 and 0:42, 1:39 and 1:40, something seems missing. Yet, if you were to fill it in with anything, it would cease to be a piano version of this track but a cover of it, since it is not entirely faithful to the original. You haven't done anything wrong - this is just something I tend to observe when EDM gets adapted into a piano-only version.

You’re absolutely right! I used to try making direct covers, but as I’ve done these, I’ve come to view my role not as translation but as a secondary artist. I borrow the melodies, chord progressions, and other identities of the piece then recombine into an enjoyable work in a different medium. Ofc I still make mistakes or bad choices, but hopefully less now 😂

PIKASONIC's compositional choices and other japanese composers follow a setup where it's incredibly harmonic and related to jazz which according to music theory makes it sound the way they intend to and delivers perfectly regardless of the medium of playback.
