Both Venusaur and Torterra are my most favorite starters. Venusaur is a giant tank which always refuses to go down easily. The moment it mega-evolve, well, even fire and ice-types will fear this gigantic wall. On the other hands, Torterra with Ground-Grass combination can deal with nearly all of my opponents in Platinum easily.

@@JoaoVitor-uk7cj Venusaur has good special attack. Torrtera has slightly better physical attack. Both have good physical and special defense. So betwean them speed makes the difference. Dont fotget that torrtera is both grass and earth type. So an attack like petal dance from venusaur does normal damage. Consider the overgrow ability of venus wich ups grass attacks. Torrtera has a wider range of aplications. It can learn crunch, erathquake, hood hummer and maybe a fighting ability. The fact that venusaur defeats torrtera in one to one battle doesnt mean venusaur is the best however. It all depends the whole team tactic.
