Nintendo is going to have a stroke seeing somebody remake a mod of the old game and including multiplayer. They already got a complete bukkake of egg on their face from Pal-world outshining them, and we've already seen how much Nintendo loves seeing mario mods

1:07 in case this doesn't get cleared up later. The answer to this is "kind of." Pikmin 4 had a "co-op" feature, where you could connect a second controller. What did Player 2 do you might ask? Control Oatchi, maybe? Or a second recruit? No, of course not, silly. Player 2 got to control a crosshair on the screen and throw rocks to stun enemies, among other minor things. So not a very fun co-op mode. I believe you could do "Dandori Battles" in multiplayer, which is a 1v1 game mode, rather than co-op. Which it's possible Mike was thinking of that. More likely though, is that he's thinking of how Pikmin 2 and 3 (Wii U) handled it, which was that you could do 2 Player Co-op; in the Challenge Mode, not the main story. Excluding Pikhacker's mods, the only Pikmin game that you can play through the whole main story in co-op, where both players have equal responsibilities (i.e, both control a player character), is the Switch version of Pikmin 3; Pikmin 3 Deluxe. But _even then_ there is a missed opportunity to allow 3 Player co-op, where each player controls each of the three crew members. Only 2 Player is supported, so you still have one AI controlled member for most of the game.
