@@xerobeat9142 i saw a theory that the smoky progg freezes time around its egg, so maybe it froze the entire pikmin 1 area in time and it looks different in pikmin 2 bc time rapidly unfroze when olimar killed the progg PIKMIN 4 SPOILERS INCOMING: thats also probably why the enviroments in pikmin 4 (mainly heros hideaway and primordial thicket bc of the bogswallows)

After 18 years, Pikmin 2 still remains a masterpiece, musically. I'll admit there are game play balancing issues which I enjoy and might be nostalgia biased, but the soundtrack still holds up to today.

Ok I’m sorry but the Pikmin 2 sound font needs help. I’m a huge fan of the over world themes but my god would they love a touch up from more modern instruments or at least a new soundfont. I do not think the music holds up well for this reason.

Played Pikmin 2 to completion for the first time in about 6 years, the Valley of Repose for me is still one of my favorite levels in gaming history, it settles you right into the most calming setting and with the most soothing music to boot, and while it gets harder as it goes on, the first day with getting the reds, getting Louie back, and collecting the Duracell battery are etched into my mind permanently. This level is why I love snow levels, and even Emergence Cave is such a classic segment of this game for me that I could replay the first two days over and over and never get bored. Valley of Repose is an awesome level and I hope there's another level like this in Pikmin 4!

funnily enough I remember as a little kid every time I'd go to my nana's house I'd play on the gamecube they had. I'd always play Pikmin 2. They didn't have the memory card put in so I couldn't save my progress and at my age I never knew why it wouldn't save. Still I kept playing the start of the game over and over again every time we visited basically speed running it. I found out a few years recently that they had the memory thing in a random draw and it works. The fact that I never got sick of it is a sign of how truly great this game is.
