Guys, wasn't it obvious? The thing that made the S.S Drake crash was the Duck Hunt Dog. I mean it's pretty clear. We hear him laugh as the Drake is hit. He also makes his debut in Smash Bros. alongside Alph (as a different skin of Olimar). Coincidence? I think not!

My guess is that there is some type of amplifier inside the key that increases the ship's power so it can reach warp speeds, it does have a plug on it afterall. Meaning it extracts energy from the ship in some way.

About the rain: The day after you save Louie from the Scornet Maestro, it will never rain. Every day after that until you beat the Quaggled Mireclops, it will always rain in the Garden of Hope. The first day you visit the Formidable Oak, it will never rain. Every day after that, it will always rain in the Formidable Oak. Other than that, rain is completely random.

And that last scene is a hint at Pkimin 4 before it was announced since it looks like another ship going down and the Pikmin rushing off to see what the noise was. Might be a completely different captain or captains since Olimar, Louie, Charile, Brittany and Alph just left. I kinda want to hope its Olimars kids who snuck off because their dad was taking too long. And Olimar given how his boss is and the insane stuff he's put through, I think he should start thinking of forms of self employment once he gets the Dolphin back.

Oh god, I realized the purpose of Pikmin. The captains give the Pikmin an idea of what to do, and that helps increase their population and chances of survival, while also helping the captains in a symbiotic relationship, yes. But also, the Pikmin try and help get the captains off the planet, either to make sure they stop impeding on their ecosystem, or to save them from the Wraiths. The Wraiths might actually be what ended the human race. The Wraiths might've been one giant mega Wraith that wiped out the human race, and in a method that was quick and quiet, so much of the humans legacy was preserved. It might be a reason the planet is so dangerous, how all these lifeforms appeared, and it might've all been caused by an experiment gone wrong.

I agree that Pikmin games should be longer. Pikmin 2 is only long if you take the game slow but if you really wanted to, you could do it fast. I hope Pikmin 4 has aspects of 1, 2, and 3 which could make it longer and add stronger enemies and stuff.

+Chronicsanity In high concentrations yes, but to change the atmosphere of Earth took a long time, about 400 million just for oxygen to begin to build up. Koppai is 10 times larger than earth and its oxygen percentage is only 7%. Don't quote me on this but being larger, its likely for Koppai to have a much thicker atmosphere than earth. Regardless, an easy fix is to just keep air tight green houses and use the generated oxygen for fuel then release the CO2 back to the plants. The question you should be asking is if the plants would even grow. Does their soil contain the right nutrients? Does the air have the right chemical makeup? Is the sun emitting the right kind of light, does the planet have a magnetosphere? Is there water and is it contaminated with harmful minerals? Is the Sun a 3rd generation star? You probably heard that if Earth was different by a small margin, we wouldn't exist, (I think we would if we evolved accustomed to theses differences) but how would all this affect plants? By the time they answer all these questions, they'd have better spent they're time genetically altering the food supplies around them to produce larger amounts of food. Basically what I'm saying is that it doesn't matter, *NINTENDO LOGIC*

The Plasm Wraith is one of my favorite final bosses of all time. Fighting something so, alien, something that doesn't belong on this planet, is very eery. And the fight itself is amazing, with Pikmin running around the battle field chipping away at the gold slog, the Wraith being a perfect match for an army of 100. Each Pikmin type getting a chance to shine, if you do the fight proper, and not cheese it like shown here.

I didn't expect this series to end so fast, but the game was really enjoyable regardless. The story didn't drag on and the idea of having the mysterious lifeform follow you as you try to manage 2 teams and get things done is a nice idea. I really hope they bring it back in Pikmin 4 with either the same creature or something similar. Maybe even add it one or two more times so you have about 3 challenging levels where you must really plan around something. And we still have mission mode and Battle Bingo so at least the game isnt completely over yet! Thanks for the LP Chugga, was holding out on seeing this game till it came from you and I am glad I waited.

Something I think I'll add is that My feelings toward Pikmin 3 come as Mixed, and I've beaten the game to completion 2 times, the opinion not changing much. To me, Pikmin 3 wasn't a bad game, it just didn't really live up to the first 2 in my eyes. Perhaps it's the nostalgia talking, but I just didn't connect as much with this one as I did with Pikmin 2 and especially Pikmin 1 (Possibly my favorite game). It was fun nontheless and I'm glad you did an LP on it Chuggaa, because it needed to be done. I very much enjoyed this LP for the witty commentary and enjoyable moments Only the Greatest LPer of all time could give us. Thank You, Emile and I'll see you in the next one! =D

OK. Decided to make this separate because this might be a long one, but I think I've got my thoughts together. Here's what I think of the LP: it's a blast. Lot of good solid moments. Lot of fun facts. Lot of puns. Lot of highlights. Lot of things that make this Pikmin 3 LP unique and give it the Chugga Charm. There's one thing that I really would like to see improved in future LPs however as I found it to be a problem with both this LP and the previous one, M&L SS, and that is Emile, specifically his attitude towards the preventable. Now just lower your pitchforks and torches and AK-47s and what not and just hear me out: I like Emile. I like his commentary style. I like how he does read the comments and address them. I like how knowledgable he is most of the time. What I don't like is how cocky he's been coming off lately. Emile talks a good game all the time, but there are quite a good number of times where he doesn't play one...and he makes up excuses and doesn't try to improve.

Take his M&L LP for instance. Early on, in like the second episode, he explains that he doesn't feel the need to raise his defenses because unlike in later games, every attack can be dodged/countered. This is truth. However, early on he goes down quite a bit, and even later on he goes down a few times as well. Whenever that happens, at the end of the battle, he comments about how it could have gone better and that he wasn't happy with it, but he then turns around and says that it all worked out in the end and that it was all OK. No, it isn't because in the next fight, Emile makes the same mistakes (see Koopaling fights for instance) and doesn't improve, because he thinks that mediocrity is acceptable when it shouldn't be. These LPs are his pet projects, makings of his own. You wouldn't half-ass your senior project on a subject you felt so passionate about and seem that piss poor quality as "acceptable", and this is how I feel Emile's attitude towards Pikmin 3 was.

True, some Pikmin deaths were unavoidable and nothing could have been done to save them such as the first casualty (the Yellow getting chucked into the water by the Arctic Cannon Larva). However, there were mistakes that could have and should have been prevented such as the Tundra Waste Joustmites that killed a number of his Pikmin because he had planned the route poorly or more prevalently in this fight, having a number of Pikmin burn/drown to death because Emile got reckless with where he was placing his Rock Pikmin and didn't think things completely through (for instance, he didn't use any sprays save for the first one), and yet despite bemoaning such relatively bad gameplay, he accepts it so quickly like that and doesn't vow to do better or avoid those mistakes in the future, and sometimes he even makes the same mistake twice like with the Twilight River Joustmites. I'm not saying he should be all "woe is me" over every loss nor am I saying he has to be absolute perfection;...

...this is not a perfect run. It's not a speed run. It's not even a no deaths run. This is advertised as an LP of Pikmin 3, short and simple (it's not even 100% as Emile did miss a data file in the last fight). I'm not saying he should play ahead on days and make plans either; that takes away from some of the genuine surprises for both Emile and is viewers such as the Tropical Wilds fruit that Emile figured out you can lock on to with Wings. That was a rather amazing discovery, and it wouldn't have been quite the same if he had found out about it in a test run and just shared the footage of his amazement. Mistakes will be made, some of which can't be prevented no matter how much one wishes, and some that aren't worth restarting an entire day. However, Emile shouldn't be so quick to accept that that's how the cookie crumbles. He should strive to improve instead of staying stagnant and repeating old mistakes. The reason why this pisses me off so much is because I know that Emile has...

...the capacity and drive to improve himself. Just look at the TRG WoF videos. Emile is hilariously bad at word puzzles, that much is still true, but he has been getting better and doing his best not to embarrass himself. He still has much to learn, and he still gets cocky, obnoxiously so at times (like when he entered every single wrong letter possible because he knew what the correct one was), but he has come a long way from "Calibrary Cuff Paula Deen". His three victories under his belt prove it, and it's all due to his desire "to not suck" as he once put it, so much so that he bought his own copy and played it extensively to improve to the point where he can go toe-to-toe with CPUs and now Jon and Tim. It's nice to see them at the top for once, especially Tim, as opposed to Emile who when King of the Hill proceeds to gloat and rub it in everyone's faces, but at the same time, it's nicer to see Emile in the Underdog role. It's both humbling to him and his followers because...

I rather like that rather motivated side of Emile and like it more when said side eventually succeeds, and I hope it carries through to SMB3 and that he picks up a copy to practice and improve himself if he hasn't already, so it stands to say that I don't like the relatively unmotivated side of Emile as seen here, the side who stunts his own growth and shoots it in the foot because he believes that a C is passing work and is therefore acceptable, even if he doesn't like it. As his audience, we don't want C grade work; we want A grade. As the entertainer and as someone who wants to give it his best shot, Emile should and often does want A grade, and to get there, he has to work for it. In this life, the worst thing you can do is be wasteful, and very few things are worse than wasted potential, least in my book. That's just my two cents for what it's worth...

Yeah I hate that! I hate bosses that are literally un-killable and are just shown as perfectly fine at the end for some other poor soul to stumble upon. Hopefully in Pikmin 4 we don't actually meet it again. The thing is just fucking creepy. It's way worse than the Water Wraith.

That's pretty damn significant because I'm pretty sure I know everything that chuggaa is going to say in the bonus episode, yet I don't think I have any answer to what happened to Louie... I thought all the loose ends were cleared up, but it looks like we already have something for Pikmin 4 to resolve. I really hope you're right that the Plasm Wraith took him because it's such an interesting enemy that I would love to see return.

I really like how, if you’re the type to get confused and mix up captains, they give each Captain a role they can play to help you remember, and it influences their personality. You can put Alph on tasks like breaking down walls and digging holes and the like, Charlie on clearing enemies, and Brittany on finding fruits.

Another major theory surrounding the interwebz is that the Plasma Wraith is basically a different Water Wraith than the one in pikmin 2. But when it made Olimar's ship crash, it absorbed the gold plating from the ship, and with it the gold cube it seems to show in liquid form. The cube is basically the ship's consciousness, basically following its programming to protect Olimar, but the Water Wraith's own consciousness is corrupting it, making the ship feel as if it is protecting olimar, but unknowingly killing him by keeping olimar in sleep mode. Crazy theory, but it kind of makes sense in a way. At least it explains the ship's lack of gold plating in the game, and the plasma wraith's own gold color.

To add to the Plasm Wraith theories: it is possible that the Plasm Wraith isn't a related life form to the Water Wraith, but in fact *is* the Water Wraith. Some speculate that the reason it is gold instead of translucent now is that it actually scraped off and absorbed the gold plating of Olimar's ship, which is why it no longer has the plating when you see it in the Mireclops arena.

When the plasm wraith gets too small it can only use one elemental and if it gets even smaller, it can't use elementals at all.

It's so ironic, my wife and I decided to play Pikmin 3 deluxe last month. We beat it today (which is also the day I finished this Let's Play since I was playing along with Chugga), and it's also the day after we got that awesome Pikmin 4 trailer from the 2/8/23 Nintendo Direct. Crazy that Pikmin 4 was already being discussed back in 2015.
