Some Dandori Level Tips: -Oatchi acts as your second captain. You can split up and work on different tasks -Try sending a few Pikmin on long-term tasks early (collecting gold, bridge/wall building, wall destroying). This is so you can multitask and save time while those tasks are whittled away. -when opening the map, you can direct your captain to move to a different location. This makes it so you can have your inactive captain move somewhere while you’re controlling someone else.

Tips when it comes to caves: when moving to the next floor or exiting the cave, it will automatically take all the pikmin with you, so you can get to the exit with just your captain and wait for your pikmin to finish their jobs, then move on without having to go and gather them up. Also this game has a rewind time function, so if you make a mistake, you can go back to a checkpoint.

Heres a tip: You actually don't need to make it back to the circle at the end of the day yourself. Any pikmin currently in your squad will survive once the day ends. The circle is for pikmin you left at the onion/ S.S Beagle. Also I highly recommend getting the Idler's Alert upgrade. It allows you to summon pikmin who are idle to your location. Edit: I also recommend getting blue pikmin, you can find them at the bottom at the map in the Sun-Speckled Terrace.

Probably the best game in the series honestly. Gorgeous visuals and really satisfying exploration, I am liking the Dandori challenges too. I think the only issue I'm having is it's just waaaay too easy. The controls are far smoother and the AI for pikmin is also way smarter, so I was hoping they'd ramp up the challenge more. I wanted more big enemy fights, more challenging areas, and more confusing puzzles. The difficulty is understandable as the games are really meant to be for children, but it's just too much of cakewalk because of Oatchi. You can buy Oatchi all the elemental resistances and he can take care of basically every obstacle in the game unassisted. Not to mention the consumable items are soooo OP, some of these late game items are just too good.

I love how you just roll with the punches, that's the absolute chad way to play! If i had one dandori tip, it's for combat: it's almost always preferable to just keep throwing pikmin if you have enough, and trying to whistle before the enemy shakes them off. Dandori Tip: Use the X button to get the current colour group of pikmin to charge. It's much faster than throwing them individually to pick up stuff, destroy walls or kill enemies. Also get the command skill for Oatchi and use it constantly. He can pick up stray pikmin, and be controlled individually for multitasking.

I always feel bad about not using oatchi's second captain stuff "you can control him and act as a second captain by the way" but I also feel like using his fully upgraded rush saves the same amount of time with how lethal and wall destroying it is. I also thought there was some kind of soft cap to how many pikmin can die at once since sometimes I thought I got a lot of pikmin killed only to have lost 4, I think you proved me wrong.

It depends on what's killing them. A bulborb can only eat so many Pikmin at a time but an explosion or AOE attack (like the electricity from the amprat and dweevil) will hit every Pikmin in its proximity.

free dandori tips i learned from a combination of watching pikmin speedrunners talk about the game and my own experiences playing it. 1. make your movement from point a to point b as clean as possible. pick a line and stick to it. avoid backtracking whenever possible, if you find yourself treading the same ground over and over, you're probably doing something wrong. this is the sort of thing that gets easier to do and think about the more you replay the game and have better knowledge of the map. 2. do whatever task takes the longest first. tasks that make other tasks take less time should also be prioritized early, unless it comes at the cost of more time than it saves. 3. potentially obvious, but multitask. doing 2 things at once is significantly better than doing 1 thing and then another thing. 4. on the topic of multitasking, split up the captain and oatchi to work on seperate tasks at the same time. i also highly reccomend buying command level 2 in the oatchi skill upgrade menu as soon as possible. this unlocks "go here", which allows the captain and oatchi to automatically follow a path you set, which allows you to multitask even better.

I think we all can agree that you got a HUGE dandori issue. However, you're not doing that bad! (If we ignore the intensive genocide of pikmin). My suggestion? Go back to the sun speckled terrace and get some more ice pikmin from the caves. If possible get the other flarlic and the blue onion too! Youll need 30 ice though. Also. Dont be ashamed if the first day or two seem empty. In a new area opening up matters more than that completion percent, seriously. You got unlimited days after all

Best tip I can give for the time trials like the dandori daycare, are to focus on things in this order. 1. gather pikmin 2. open shortcuts 3. kill enemies 4. carry treasures steps two and three are interchangable. Also, ALWAYS prioritize attacking enemies over carrying treasures. You lose less pikmin that way.

My suggestion would be to use your dog who is also a playable captain and you can do two different things at once on different sides of the map, also going back to the first area and getting the blue onion would be useful for the 3rd area of the game, there is also a cave in top of the hill in the first area that has a bunch of ice pikmin in it so if you ever need to stock up on ice pikmin just head over there, I hope some of these tips help you and I’m gonna enjoy watching you play through pikmin 4 because you are really entertaining to watch time and time again

Combat tip for Pikmin: throw ALL your pikmin on an enemy, not just a few. They WILL be thrown off and they WILL be eaten. The trick is to make them dead faster than they can make you dead.

Save your raw mats for useful permanent gear instead of consumables, several of these are super helpful (1. PRIORITY: the idler global summon, the Super affordable aerial scout drone, and emergency all home home commands) and some are mandatory for progress (element prooofing your captain and Oatchi). It is also possible to find new colors of pikmin EARLY if you have Oatchi sniff around the areas, (There is a major one in the first area, no spoilers but it will help you with the hydration issue you are running into a lot.)

First things first, pikmin, you are playing with the bare minimum, go get more (100 of each w/ onion, 60 wo/ onion, minimum inside the onion and keep getting more.) second, don't throw like a dum dum, if a weight says "5" you send 5, that's it, throw more when you know you have the way free and time's running out (super helpful in dandori battles), for that long bird neck dude, let him attack you, dodge, then charge (charge horn will help you later on).

Dandori tips: Idle pikmin are bad, but pikmin in your squad are bad too. Get them busy. Oatchi is a good captain, but great at doing things solo. Neglect him at your own peril. The charge horn, idle siren (I forgot what it’s called), and rush boots are priority items. The rest aren’t that great. I can only count two bullshit moments regarding caves, and one’s in a very late dandori challenge. You won’t need to babysit pikmin like in Pikmin 2.

Its so wierd to see that the game is adaptive what you get where if you move on to Blossoming Arcadia instead of staying in Sun-Speckled Terrace. For future reference, it doesn't always work, but if you lose Pikmin to something stupid, check Rewind Time if you can undo that and get your Pikmin back so you don't end up with 19/20 Pikmin hanging on a hinged bridge.

Pikmin Tips: Press X to command all of the selected pikmin to charge. This is good so you don't have to manually throw one pikmin to gather 20 rocks. It's also good if you want to have them eat nectar. You can map shortcuts to the D-Pad. I recommend putting Divide one one of the directions. This way you can separate and choose specific Pikmin for a needed task. If you wanna freeze enemies then it's better to use Ice Pikmin before launching your other Pikmin. Finally, If you're lost on progress you can ride Oatchi and sniff out things. He'll automatically walk to a destination.

The only advice I'd give is to take your time. You'll generally get used to splitting up tasks. It's not like the first game where it pressures you with days so exploring nooks and crannies can offer more rewards like raw material. For example you'd be able to find blue Pikmin earlier than that cave I believe. On the other hand it's refreshing to see someone play these games more casually than me.

Not specifically dandori relted tips, buuuut here's some stuff I've noticed/found helpful as a new pikmin player who hadn't played any of the series before like two weeks ago but has now played, 1 (1/3 done), 2 (cleared debt), and 4 (pretty dang far, 100% most areas and battles so far). 1. You can press and hold X after getting the charge horn to have a group of a particular type of Pikmin (your currently active group in the bottom right) dash like Oatchi, minus the impact. If they dash into something that would be a task (like a treasure, gate, etc.) the number of pikmin needed for the task will separate from the group and do that task. Ice pikmin, for example, who charge into water will freeze the water if there are enough. In dandori battles, the whole squad will engage in tug of war for an item. Against enemies, for certain types of pikmin who are stronger on impact/after being thrown (purples, rocks...) you can focus on throwing those while letting your less effective pikmin swarm their weak spot. Throws are also kinda "all or nothing" in combat, where if you miss and they go idle or you hit the wrong the spot on an enemy, that could be the death of that Pikmin (unimportant in the grand scheme, but make or break short term, especially if they're a special type that you can't reproduce). If they charge and don't hit anything (task, enemy, etc.), they'll just come right back or go idle if there isn't a relatively clear path back toward you. Overall this may be less useful early on, but when you get later in the game and you're commanding 40, 50, 60+ pikmin, I find this to be the easiest way to designate tasks when I don't literally Need to throw my Pikmin. You also end up spending a lot less time in dandori battles just throwing Pikmin and more time running around/planning or just doing.....literally anything else. 2. You are just as "tempting" to enemies as Pikmin are. You can use yourself as bait to distract enemies so Pikmin can get by with an item (very useful in dandori battles, less so in the overworld), or get the enemy to face away from pikmin that are running back to you/idle. You also have a lil punch that's super weak (like, not even 1 pikmin worth of strength I think), but ultimately damage is damage, and I THINK this move can be used to get an enemy to switch aggro. So don't be afraid to get in there. I think you can also help with destroying walls and other destruction tasks, but again, not sure how much that's even worth. 3. UPGRADE OATCHI. He has a TON of value in terms of carrying, doing random tasks, etc. and is essentially one big super Pikmin later on. Upgrading yourself isn't usually that worth it IMO outside of things like fireproof, ice proof, and shock proof, but do it if you have mats to spare. But Oatchi has SO MUCH VALUE in combat, carrying things, finding things (including people, pikmin, etc.), and more when upgraded. Such a good boy.

In the first level there is a blue onion with blue pikmin

Just a tip, you can find a blue onion in the first area, however you will need to get her a lot of ice pikmin, I suggest going into the first cave where you found them to grind until yoh have 20 or 30, also find more flarlics to have more pikmin beforehand

Important tip choc: the next area has ALOT of water so I highly recommend grabbing the blue onion from the first area to start ur blue army

There's a blue onion in the next area. It's buried underwater but once it's dug up the water will drain and any Pikmin can retrieve it. He just needs a few Blue Pikmin or a bomb rock.

It hurts how careless you are when fighting enemies you’re losing more pikmin then you should when fighting enemies don’t leave your pikmin alone and when it comes to carrying treasure just make sure they have a safe and quick way back to base no need to babysit them carrying stuff back if the route is clear also there is a blue onion that you can find back in the first area one more thing when you get a new pikmin make sure not to put em in too much danger especially if you don’t have their colored onion meaning you can’t properly produce more
