Yes, I’ve been waiting for so long. I remember in December waiting for this and knowing that I had a bunch of test at the end of the year for school. I was so bummed out that this was coming out after and I would have to wait after all that studying but I passed all my test and I’m ready to watch the cinematic masterpiece

Alright, after FINALLY watching this, it's am safe to say that the hype was totally worth it. The story was much better, and showed signs of improvement. I enjoyed the different tone/atmosphere than the OG series. I really liked Red being cynical, and Oatchi being dopey and childish. Louie was probably my favorite character though, and his character development was outstandingly good. Yellow being adventurous was a fun detail, and I loved it. I only wish it was expanded on more. The fourth wall breaks were also phenomenal. I also loved the detail that Olimar and Louie got more lightheaded as the days passed. Overall, it was a fun take on the original PPA: Saving Olimar, and truly was worth the wait. My only real complaints were that some parts felt a bit rushed, and some parts dragged on a bit too much. Like, some characters felt like they were added too quickly, and some just plain shouldn't have been added. Another complaint is that the Apexes didn't seem as threatening as the OG, which was a massive shame. Bulborb/Rex was one of my favorite characters, and he was kind of treated as some random, ignorant guy with an inferiority complex. A lot of plot holes could've been fixed if he wasn't dumb or treated like a joke. It didn't help that there were only four of the Apexes, and very few other creatures. One of my last complaints is the on-screen death count. While it did give a bit of threat to Rex, and improved the tone, it felt like they died for no reason. The reason Yellow's death in Saving Olimar was so good, was because it felt like a proper conclusion, where his very short-lived redemption arc came to a close. Blue taking the role of Yellow didn't quite feel as genuine, because he didn't have much of a good friendship with Red anyway. The amount of deaths makes it feel more like the characters are just plain old Pikmin who were born to work and die. Also, it was disappointing we didn't see much of the search for parts, and a lot of them were just found with the Pikmin. It felt really casual, and it didn't feel like the search was real, and treacherous. I understand if it was a deadline/real life thing, though, so it's fine. You know, I don't know if I can fairly judge this and give it Hollywood standards, as it's not a Hollywood production, but I think it's still one of the best Pikmin Plush videos on KZbin. I give this a 7.9/10 (missing 0.1 because Kevin was replaced by Oatchi, and was reduced to a minor cameo)
