I tried the randomizer shortly after seeing the originals of these videos. Some high anxiety seeing Proggs spawn in the Impact Site, but it was blocked off by the walls. And then seeing 2 Proggs in the Distant Spring at the same time. And then 3 Proggs on a return trip to the Forest of Hope. Way too many Proggs.

I always had the mental theory that pikmin would mature underground but heavy rain or another pikmin would release them eventually. In pikmin 1 and 2 we see pikmin instinctively pull small weeds. Maybe that's a instinct for them to pull their fellow pikmin. but if you forget a few seeds and they get left in the soil over winter they become onions next year.

You gotta have your blue Pikmin be idle in the water, then they act as lifeguards for your yellows. Makes getting that corner piece in the distant spring much less lethal. But blues won't be on life duty if they're following your orders.

Fun fact: In the GCN version of pikmin, you can actually kill the beady long legs by hitting it a few times with your yellows. If done carefully it will follow you out of its arena and across the map. Go onto the bridge below where the Libra is up high and the BLL will trip and fall into the chasm below. Only problem is this also crashes the game. So, you gotta kinda watch out for that. Fun glitch though.
