Rob Fowler is pretty damn amazing. It's funny seeing him look so manly in Roman armour when he also played Frank in Rocky Horror. He's got an awesome range and I just love that evil laugh.

Better than '73 Barry Dennen, doesn't come close to '00 Fred Johanson. But what an amazing Tenor voice. He should be playing Judas instead.

rob fowler is good. He suits the role quite well. But i think the 1996 London cast and recordings are better.

I actually prefer the more frail "judge-like" pilate from the 70's version. You can really feel his empathy during the trail. But with these tough-guys, they look comical when they try to empathize with Jesus.

The stair thing is as pointless as the costume he's wearing, if you get my drift. It doesn't actually do anything for the technical side of the performance, but it wouldn't be the same without it. I can see a multitude of reasons the stair movement was included, all of them good.
