Did pilates in my younger years with a breeze....later on in 40s suffering back pain and wow is so difficult 😂...hopefully it helps my back and I get some flexibility back 🤞

Hi Melissa - first of all, the fact that you did Pilates when you were a bit younger will absolutely help you as you will find that you haven't forgotten the technique (if you mastered it when you practised Pilates before), so that's a good starting point! Now, it's just getting the right muscles to strengthen and others to relax... Pilates is so effective and maybe it's something you just appreciate more past 40 as that's when injuries can happen more easily. Let me know how it goes! x

I'm just getting into Pilates and WOW I wasn't expecting it to be so challenging! This was a great video- difficult, but still managable! I love your energy and I will definitely watching more of your videos!!

Pilates is surprisingly challenging! Sometimes people expect to just lie on the mat and breathe, but it's not at all like that. It's super strong, but as you say, still doable and then you build it up from there. I love it! It seems you do too! :))

first time really trying Pilates after my trip to the chiropractor, what do you recommend if my spine feels like its digging in to the floor too much when lying on my back and bringing my legs up? i have the natural spine curve it just seems like a lot of pressure on my spine while im doing these. i have a thin exercise mat, should i maybe buy a thicker one? thanks for the video and looking forward to getting better!

Hi Lauren! Ah this is something I get a lot in class and the solution is just a thicker mat, or even several mats on top of each other. Please look for a 10mm mat - Pilates mats are traditionally much thicker than yoga mats. I actually use two on top of each other most days - making it a 20mm mat. I have found that 20mm (or a 2cm thickness) works for most people who have issues with protruding bones, but you can even go for more. It always reminds me of the 'Princess and the Pea' fairytale, where the Princess keeps feeling the pea under the mattress, and she keeps adding mattresses. :))) So, you just experiment with thickness and the right thickness is where you don't feel the bones digging into the floor. That should do the trick! Let me know how it goes... 😀

Hi, My physical therapist recommended I start Pilates to strengthen my core and abs. I had total knee replacement 7 weeks ago, and can't kneel. Do you have beginner videos that don't include kneeling? Or can you recommend modifications? Thank you

Hello. I am new to your channel and to Pilates. I have had two major surgeries in the past two and a half years. I have no body strength or stamina anymore. I don’t feel comfortable with going to the gym just yet. Would you recommend your videos to help me? I’m not looking to loose weight or gain muscle I just need to strengthen at this point. Thank you

Hi Cadita! Your body has been through a lot and Pilates is great for building strength and flexibility, but in a safe way. My videos are absolutely right for you.
