Yeah, do it! Lucerne is a very nice city with a lot of beautiful monuments, like the Kappellbrücke, a 665 ft. long covered wooden bridge over the river Reuss that was built in 1333 (world's oldest surviving truss-bridge) or the Bourbaki-Panorama, a 360° panoramic painting (367 ft circumference and 33 ft high) painted in 1881, depicting the defeated french army under General Bourbaki crossing the swiss borders, getting disarmed by the swiss army and getting food and medical care from the swiss people or you can book a boat trip on Lake Lucerne with one of the historical paddle steamers. Also: Chocolate! ;-)

In the parking lot at the lake, there's a cog-wheel proudly marked "Krupp" If you were in Europe and wanted 'proofed' steel when this was made, you went to Krupp. That reputation was well-earned.
