Apparecchio storico: l' ultimo costruito da Pilatus. Acquirente e' una compagnia indonesiana. Consegna ufficiale: questo mese di novembre. E' certamente il piu' noto tipo di aereo made in Switzerland!!!

Pardon my ignorance but this version sounds like it has a fixed shaft turbo prop like a Garret. I have extensive time in Twin Otters with both the PT6 dash 20 and 27. Twin Otters were the 100, 200 and the 300. The PT6 power plants were rock solid. The other power plants I flew like the Garret and Allison’s had issues like being temperature limited way before their TBO’s and had other issues like FOD and Inlet icing. When did the Porters move away from the PT6? I had over 9000 hours of reliable PT6 time before moving to flying jets exclusively. I had three engine failures or mandatory shutdowns in the next 11,000 hours of jet flying. So I am very partial to Pratt and Whitney. The inertial flow separation design is tops in a bush environment.

It crashed today 4nm east of my home airport in Heraklion Greece. The pilot is safe but the passenger is dead. The pilot reported engine problem. After completing a right turn to return to the airport, the airplane lost height and speed then stalled and crashed into the sea. Such a new engine how is it possible for engine malfunction

What a tragedy! First and foremost for the person who lost their life and also for the last PC-6 built. I think it's too early to draw conclusions about the cause of the accident. I think the investigative authorities of Greece will do a good and professional job and determine the cause of the accident over time. RIP 🙏🏼

It's rare, but I've had the same experience with a helicopter. The engine is built by humans, and even though we have safety standards, it still happens.

Could also have been contaminated fuel, not an engine failure.

That is *NOT* the last ever built PC-6. An Indonesian airline was the customer for the last ever built PC-6. Those are *NOT* Indonesian rego numbers and livery.

Boy, those comments were hastily made and dead wrong. Do a simple google search and you’ll see it’s owned by Smart Aviation (Indonesia). You absolute Wally 😂😂😂
@andimilan53488 ай бұрын
@@johnfisher7143you're right. He did not know that his registration number would be changed to PK (ICAO reg for Indonesia) later. He also did not know that the livery of the aircraft was a livery of Smart Aviation Indonesia as the orderer. Unfortunately this plane failed to be delivered because it crashed with 1 fatality in Greece while being transported via ferry flight to Indonesia. This video is a copy of the official video from Pilatus. The Pilatus channel containing this video has also been removed due to the accident. RIP to the victims.
