I have a bad habit of saying Illinoise too ;) I had a work mate that was from Chicago that would always apply correction, LOL. I've recently gotten into world coins, and find that many of them have excellent art and interesting shapes or other atributes. Thank you for sharing your coins! I am liking toned coins more and more, so my favorite was definitely the Peace with the toning!

Liberia was actually a US colony that was set up as a place for freed slaves to go before the Civil War. It was believed they would have more freedom and liberties in Africa than in America where freed slaves were still discriminated against. Over 15,000 freed slaves immigrated there by choice between 1822 and 1861 when the US recognized their independence. So not such a tragic start to the country.
