The December kit build extravaganza continues.
This is one iI got last year and forgot about.
Like so many of these cheap kits, the instructions and description are fully in Chinese, so the best way to know exactly what it does is to build it!

This isn't the only way to do it.
It's probably not the best way to do it.
But it's how I did it.

The 4066 was used in lots of 80s computers. You can replace them today brand new with TI 4066BE.

I would be interested if you could add a micro controller to control the 4 inputs and a timer to use either a FET or relay to provide power to the sound board for a set amount of time. It does look like it could be part of a kit to show about alarm systems or other educational kits, besides soldering practice.

This video gave me flash backs of electronics class lab where my partner and I did our best of buildind the circuit and writing a paper of how it worked. Instructor gave so many different circuits so talking to our neighbors was useless. And we had to look up chips in books no Google yet to get data sheets. Huge pile of catalogs with thin sheet paper abd you hoped no one tore out the one you needed.

The small blog PCB board is just pushed through the slot and soldered on the *_underside_* . The 2 wire jumpers are soldered onto the small PCB first... ... that is what the instructions say 😂😂

Glad to see that yours makes the same annoying toy car sounds as the kit I bought. Nothing changes except us all getting older. Merry Christmas and a happy kit building new year.

They sell the small "blob" PCBs separately (most have different pinout). There are numerous models offering different noises. Try search for "Animal Sound Module". HS-088 - doorbell ding dong H-83A / PX85 - songs YSJ-22S - 12 x songs LX9300 - happy birthday YSJ-DG - dog bark 3 times PX88 Plus there is a great animal sound module with 12 animals and 10 gunshots.

It's an annoyance, you put a timer on it and hide it in the bedroom...lol

I never use a wet sponge anymore ... too much trouble to keep it wet! From what I understand, you don't use the wet sponge to clean the tip, you use the wet sponge to shock off impurities -- not necessary for what we do. I also put a blob of solder on the tip and leave it before I store it away.

Would'nt it have been easier to have soldered in the blob chip board from the underside of the PCB ? (just wondering) Merry Christmas. 🎄

@@pileofstuffyou have one wire in the wrong place in the blob board 😅 so I'm surprised this actually work, because the pad with a hole aren't the same than the one just below 😊

also, should have pit the lil jumper wires on the mini-board first. then to the mainboard. that way you'd have a bit more movement and angles freedom :) love you vids:) Happy Xmas :)

Cleaning with a wet sponge is just destroying the plating. Cleaning with a brass wire cleaner is the best way, and won't harm the tip in any way.
