In today's video we finally get to travel on a train through Bolivia. I found out that there is an $8 Bolivian Overnight Train going from Santa Cruz to the Argentinian border more specifically to Yacuiba. I decided to opt for the train on my way to Tarija. Es admirable el buen dominio del idioma español o castellano que Ud. tiene, en el exterior generalmente dicen idioma español, y aquí en BOLIVIA decimos castellano por lo que era el reino de CASTILLA en ESPAÑA, de donde llegaron los españoles a conquistar AMERICA en el siglo XV. Después vinieron las guerras de independencia hasta que al presente más del 90% de las naciones americanas son independientes Felicitaciones

Yo viajé desde Oruro hasta Villazon en tren hace muchos años y fue una linda experiencia, el coche comedor, la vista, todo muy lindo. Muy recomendable como tomarte vacaciones. 👌

Amazing, in my country we also had this same model of General Electric diesel locomotive, unfortunately it was neglected and left to rust. It is amazing to see Bolivia still operates them in very good shape.

Hey Sebastian. Nice to see you again. They don't have coffe in Villamontes, they have hierbamate instead. Villamontes is located in the Chaco region, so they are used to drink hierbamate, as in Argentina and Paraguay. Greatings from LP. When you get Tarija, I recommend you to do "The wine route" and please try not to drink too much 😀

This was a cool train ride. I took it from Santa Cruz to San Jose de Chiqitos, but after 4 hrs I was getting a headache (i was still getting over moderate altitude sickness so this bumping was not helping). I asked them when next stop is and they just stopped the train in the village of El Tinto, no designated station at all, just an old man standing in the field next to the track. He pointed me to the highway that paralleled the track and I caught a ride in a van full of Mennonites for the last 2 hours and ironically we literally arrived to San Jose de Chiquitos at the exact same time the train did, I saw it arriving into town just as the van did. I got 2 great adventures out of it. I love trains and am so glad I experienced The Death Train

Por los años 90's yo tendría alrededor de 4 a 5 años de edad y mi madre y yo y algunos pasajeros solíamos ir arriba del techo con nuestros bultos. Que tiempos aquellos, todo ilegal pero era alucinante viajar contemplando la noche . también recuerdo como la gente que iba colgada de la puerta ( asi como Sebastian lo hizo) la gente caia al vacío por la velocidad del tren. Ay que recuerdos che!

My friend: Villa Montes is an iconic place in Bolivia. It has a rich history because of the Chaco War, you can visit the museum there. It has great fish, beef and pork of course, always recommended. Now the city has grown a lot of what it used to be 20 years ago, because of all the gas money that has come in. You could make a video about the history of the war from Villa Montes. In any case, good luck on your way to Tarija !

Antes se viajaba en tren hasta la frontera con Brasil - Puerto Quijarro, desde que se terminó la carretera hasta Santa Cruz ya no fue viable y empezó a tener menos viajes, porque tardaba mucho, casi 20 horas y a veces más, ahora las flotas lo hacen en 8

This Sunday is also the last dance of the chunchos in Lazaretto (which used to be a leper's colony). The Franciscan museum and the paleontology museum are worth a visit small and you can see one of the oldest human in Bolivia called the: Men of San Luis and is around 8.000 years old.
